Chapitre 16: Chapter 15 : Condemned Purity

The next day, it was a slightly hotter day than usual, still with the sun shinning over the nations as bright as ever. Aza and Satoru met up at about 11:30am and went to the demon eyed clan's large and chilly training facility which was unsurprisingly empty.

"So you ready to do this?" she asked Satoru as he closed the facility's door and placed his axe against the wall.

"Uhh remind me again what do we have to do.." said Satoru, completely forgetting about it, since he kept focusing on Anubis. On becoming strong enough to fight him.

"Spar. Train by dueling one another, surely you remember right?" she said, as they walked to the middle of the facility.

"Oh yeah, I do." he said, as she stopped and he went on forward, turning around to face her and both of them taking a fighting stance.

"You ready?" Satoru asked her, with her smirking as she activated the Eyes of Purity. "Yeah!" Aza said, as both of them rushed at each other.

They clashed with their arms, immediately with Aza going to follow up with her open right hand, performing the subtle uppercut motion, initiating the 2ft earth wall from below Satoru to catapult him into the air.

Jumping back away from the clash up into an backflip, Satoru performed the sign and fired Thunder Circus at her mid-air, which she was able to perceive with her special eyes and dodge by swerving right of it.

[Description : The Eye of Purity is the official name for one of the 5 versions of the eye, making this the 'weakest' one of them all. But still, it allows the user to perceive attacks from their opponents and more.]

Noticing where he would land, Aza sent out flame in a full circle in that area, not allowing him to land without sustaining damage. Satoru saw this and conjured the 3 white thunder senbon, throwing them at her, which she easily evaded.

Out from them he teleported, now being basically behind her and instantly aimed a hook punch at her head, yet she ducked under, being able to turn around and aiming an uppercut at his head.

Satoru moved his head back, dodging her strike. He grabbed her arm, got under it and flipped her over onto the ground. Placing his palm at her, Satoru fired a thunder beam that aimed at liker her stomach area.

Moving her body just barely in time, dodging and making the thunder beam strike the ground, she went to sweep him off his feet so he falls but he jumped back, with her quickly getting up and rushing at him, attempting to land a blow on his torso with palm strikes, but he evaded them.

She raised her leg from the ground and stomped it, causing the facility to shake as earth pillars began to come out from the ground, 5 of them, each appearing after the other and attempting to hit Satoru.

Satoru noticed this and looked below, seeing it and beginning to handspring backwards, dodging all 5 of them. Aza calculated approximately where he'd end up, going there herself and from behind him palm punching the air, sending out, basically an air cannon bullet.

He knew where she was and even turned around to see it, performing the subtle uppercut motion which initiated the earth wall, causing it to be crumbled by the air cannon bullet.

Despite that, he jumped up into the air about 7ft and threw 6 regular lightning rods at her, which she countered by firing a large fireball at them, causing both attacks to explode from the impact of each other.

As he was about to land again, out form her palm Aza fired a beam of compressed water at him, at about his shoulder.

Satoru grinned and twisted his body mid-air from the 'standing' position to a 'lying down', causing it to miss him.

Aza rotated her palms and raised her hands, as from below him a pile of water turned into a large watery spike that ascended up towards his back to pierce him.

"Hmpf.." he said, as he placed his hands behind his back, with the palms facing down towards the spike and firing 2 fireballs from them that collided with the water spike and neutralized it, causing the entire facility to be covered with fog.

This meant nothing for Aza as her eyes were not affected by it, but what did it mean for Satoru...

After landing, he looked around by squinting his eyes, trying to get a feel in the atmosphere in the room and focus on his other sense apart from sight. Being able to notice Aza, it was too late as she was behind him and struck his back about 5 times, with the sixth time being strong enough to send him sliding.

Feeling the balance shift due to him sliding in the facility, he performed a single armed handspring in front of himself, forming a kick in the air and hitting the floor in an axe kick motion that was imbued with lightning, sending it out to multiple directions, like an 8 pointed star pattern but 5 meters in every direction.

Since there were windows on top of the walls in the facility, the fog was slowly vanishing but Satoru accelerated that process by forcing thunder to heat up the area of collision from his lightning imbued axe kick, making the fog go away faster in that area and overall the facility.

From inside the fog in front of him, a water beam came at him. He thought how it was too simple and obvious an attack and dodged it by moving left.

Behind him, he heard a faint sound and saw a shadow projected on the floor front of himself representing a person going for a superman punch. He moved to the right and looked at the person that hit the floor but it wasn't even a person...

His eyes widened and a small smile formed on his face when he saw that it was something 'carved' out of stone, representing Aza and it being a distraction.

Following up in the next moment, when a large water wave, going up to nearly the ceiling, making it 30ft tall and 60ft wide, came at the white haired boy.

Satoru placed both of his hands out in each side, shoulder height and before the impact of the water wave, a lightning ball surrounded him. The colliding water with the lightning forced the thunder to make crackling sounds but it withheld until it passed.

He saw Aza appear right at himself, with her going for hand to hand combat now. Satoru responded in the same manner and they exchanged blows, with each of them landing multiple strikes on one another, with Aza being able to sweep him off his feet, making him fall on his ass.

Quickly, she pointed her palm at him and fired a water beam that easily pierced his chest and made him poof into smoke, leaving her slightly confused.

She was then stunned from behind by lightning that made her fall onto the ground, with Satoru standing over her, smiling, and pointing his palm at her as lightning cracked and sparked from it.

He dispersed the lightning and offered his hand to her, helping her up.

"You're really strong." she said as she got up.

"You are too." he told her as they went towards the exit of the facility and him placing his hand towards the axe, making it fly to his grip and putting it on his back.

She turned her face away from him after he said that, with tints of red crossing it. "Thanks." Aza said in a quieter and a gentler tone.

They left the facility and the compound of the demon eyed clan, back into the crowded village.

"So, tell me about this rank up thing we're participating in." said Satoru to her as they continued on going through the streets.

"Okay so it's consisted of 2 parts. First one is where you and your pair do this 'hide and seek' thing. Essentially, any pair can be the seeker or hider. It works in the way that you must be the last pair standing." she told him, seeing Jinn and Kazumi in training field which they passed, with their sensei there. They seemed to have been waiting.

"And the second?" he asked

"The second part is the tournament part where everyone is for themselves and it works like brackets and who wins, wins."

Satoru nodded, signaling that he understands. To him ranking up isn't something he dreams of or even desires at all but only serves as something to do to kill time and potentially get stronger by gaining experience.

"Hey, I need to go on a mission with my squad now so I'll see you later?" she asked, stopping and intending to return to the training field.

"Sure." he told her as she said "See ya!" and left back towards the training field to meet up with her squad.

He, on the other hand, returned back to his clan's compound and to his small house where he sat down for a few minutes and proceeded to take off his shirt afterwards, since it was time for some good ol' pushups.

Satoru intended to spend the rest of the day training. Specifically, training to fight Anubis.
