Chapitre 7: A Closely Avoided Catastrophe

Fury refuses to look back and just stares straight at Shogun with an emotionless expression causing him to laugh loudly.

"So I am right! Even Clint and Nat are in shock! How does it feel to get lied to in front of your face, Avengers? Not so nice now, isn't it?" Shogun laughs.

"Oh man, Fury, you just dug a grave for yourself that's deeper than seven feet. This is amazing! Ladies and gentlemen, the government top protectors!" Shogun shouts, standing up and raises his arms to the air leaving the chair to turn a bit. He disappears from the camera's view, still hearing his laugh from a distance.

No one said anything as his laughter continued and mocks them for their failure. Shogun came back by slamming his hands on the table, glaring at the screen in anger; all laughter and happiness gone. "Listen up and listen good you wannabe heroes! Since the pirate decided to do everything in his own will and got his people dead, consider this now my final warning."

"I don't even care if you come after me yourself, I will still kill you. Plus it'll be easier with this," Shogun lifts his left arm to show the weapon he stole in Wakanda. It's obvious to see that there are new modifications to it and make it more to his liking. "But, If for some reason you continue to work for the man that doesn't care for others, be my guest."

"Know that the man who's suppose to protect and help will do anything to get me and kill me. No matter how many die as long as he still has the strings to control the puppets that bend to his will. A child who will cry and scream until he gets what he wants. So if I were you, Fury, I say leave me alone and live. That, or destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. Your choice."

The video cuts out leaving everyone in the room in silence.

Silence didn't last long within the room as the Avengers started arguing with each other, but mostly with Tony. "You stole something from Shogun himself?! When did you have the time to steal something from a mercenary?" Steve asked.

"I never met the kid in my entire life! Are you actually going to believe his words?"

"He told the truth about the people using S.H.I.E.L.D to do illegal activities! Not to mention on how he got his hands on our files and knows everything about us!"

"Hey, I can't be the only person that should be in time out" Tony counters and puts his hand out towards Fury, "Let's not forget that Eyepatch here was just using us to get one person and sends his people to death! And I would like to point out that we're not just some puppets to control and use whenever you can! You need to tell us what the hell is actually going on here 'cause I doubted you 'just want' Shogun in your grasp."

"He was doing his job" Clint speaks out but was cut off by Tony once more.

"By using us for a simple catch and baiting his own agents to get killed? Get real Legolas! That kid could've killed us! I'm not wasting my time to go after one kid to get myself killed." Tony confirms his statement. "He almost destroy my suit and easily destroyed The Shrink's device to go mini." Scott gave Tony a look from the nickname but Steve just shakes his head to tell him "go with it."

"Which is why he needs to be captured-"

"For some other reason." Scott enters the conversation. "I was told we were capturing a dangerous mercenary who is killing innocents. The next thing I know, I see a kid- not an adult- a kid starting a fight with T'Challa's sister, then me and took off. Did you know that he was a kid to begin with? Because none of us knew! Not even your two agents here. Aren't these two your top best?" Scott made a point in his argument. They were given false information and believe Fury is hiding more from them and keeping everything hush hush; just like what Shogun said.

"What's the truth, Fury? Who are we dealing with? There's more to this than what you are telling us." Steve demands for answers.

"I don't have to tell you anything! Especially with having the Winter Soldier in my Helicarrier!" Fury argues.

"Bucky isn't under H.Y.D.R.A control anymore! And did you know they are back as well? Shogun told us they are also after him for some reason!" With that being said, Fury said nothing, making several people angry, especially one in particular.

Tony stands up in anger, "You do know about this! You knew all along who we were dealing with and H.Y.D.R.A being back! I will ask again one more time: who the hell are we dealing with and who the hell is Shogun?!"

"I don't know much more about Shogun!"

"Bullshit." Tony scoffs.

"As if you're innocent? Shogun says you stole something from him? What is it?" Nat questions Iron Man.

"I've never met the laughing Hyena nor have I ever seen him in person! That's literally the first time I have seen him in Africa where he kicked all of our asses and left without another word. Which is something I will do. Starting now." Tony says and begins to make is way out of the room.

"We're not done here, Stark!" Fury shouts. Tony turns around and glares at the man who keeps secrets, "You aren't, but I am."

"Tony, there's more to this-" Bruce was cut off by Clint chuckling. "Let him leave. It isn't the first time he's left us." Clint says darkly. Tony gives Clint a dark glare as they stare to each other menacingly. "Clint, that's not it." Nat said.

"Just because you let us take Steve and Bucky away from Tony doesn't mean it will happen again. Because deep down inside he is still a self-centered, egotistical, narcissistic man."

"You piece of-"

"THAT IS ENOUGH!" Everyone stops what they are doing and looks at T'Challa, the only person who hasn't said a word since arrival. "Do you not see what is happening here?! This is what Shogun wants. For all of us to turn against each other. Against Fury, S.H.I.E.L.D, inside this room to turn everyone traitorous. He is using his words and knowledge to deceive us and attack one another. I know because Shogun tried that with my sister, Shuri. Making her believe that I do not care for her well being. If this is how Shogun fights, we must be prepared for it then."

"The Shogun will continue until he is silenced for good."

"Why silence the Shogun?" Bruce asked nervously.

T'Challa answers calmly to the scientist, "He is a lone mercenary. No allies, friends. He works alone. Until we figure what we do with him, we must not let his words attack us. Our friendship is strong, our bonds cannot be broken after what we have been through. It is time to decide what to do with the lone wolf." Words from T'Challa moved the team and as well as calmed them down from their arguments that would have turned for the worse if they continued.

"Time is against us with this foe. Whenever we hear of Shogun's next move, that is our time to act. For now, we wait. Who knows what is the next move of this crafty killer."

"Can you .... " I slam my fist on my table as the guys laugh into my headphones. I regret playing this game with them.

Now I see why this game breaks friendship. "You have forty seconds left, Adrian." Digby told me. Fuck! I look up to my screen and try to think of a way to make one shot. If it works, this game is mine. "Get ready for the impossible, boys, and girl." I added since Messy is here with us. Slowly moving my mouse back and took one deep breath hoping it would work. Exhaling, I made my move and watch the screen to see the ball hit the wall and land where I wanted. "OH MY GOD YES!!!" I yell and laugh in complete happiness.

"No fucking way!"

"What was that!?"

"How did you do that?"

"This is exactly why I don't want to play with Adrian anymore!"

My laughter continue as comments begin to pour in to congratulate me for the win and others laughing along with me for the shot I made. "I am a god!"

"You are a fucking twat and a complete fucking shit." Scythe groans in anger.

"Let's look at the scoreboard shall we? Adrian was in last place throughout the entire game. Because of this one measly shot, he went all the way up to first place and fucking won the game. How the hell is that possible? Didn't you say you never play Golf It?" Soviet asked.

"First time with you guys since Celestial invited me to play." I answer.

"I regret inviting you." Everyone laugh at Celestial's comment since he was the one that ended in last place.

"You still keeping your face hidden from the lovely viewers, Adrian?" Scythe asked.

"Debating but who knows. I'll think about it. By the way, someone in my chat said come for Scythe, stay for Adrian."

"You fucking traitors so is Adrian you all want?"

I gave one last laugh and said bye to my friends and viewers to turn everything off and relax. Why does golf make people so angry? Why is it even a sport in the first place?

A squeak interrupted my thoughts and scurryied feet came close and climbed up the desk. "Are you done eating? I don't want pieces here on my stuff." Another squeak answers and scurries in front of me and sits down. "Hey, I didn't make you a messy eater, that was all on you. I may have created you, but you have some personality"

Now full on squeaks were being thrown at me which made me lean back on my chair and cross my arms. "Don't sass me, Cheeks." Cheeks stops and pouts. It amazes me how Cheeks became a big part of my life when I was younger.

Creating a full on robot with Al intelligence, personality- which is the sass- and enough to cause trouble just like me. "You may be a guinea pig, but you still add on weight when you eat too much nuts." I said.

Cheeks squeaks and walks away to his cage and takes a nap on his bed. "Lazy bones." I mumbled. A knock on my door made me look out my room and at Cheeks who woke up to the sound. Instincts took over as Cheeks runs out of my room as I pick up my stun gun and walk to the front door of my apartment.

"I know you're home, I can smell the pizza!"

"Oh for the love of..." I groan and walk to the door normally and open it to see Wanda standing there with a smile. "What are you doing here, Wanda?" I asked, hiding my gun behind my back. Cheeks came by and took it from my hand before Wanda can see.
