"And so the brave Princess rescued her bride from the heinous Abhartach-"
"Using her great fighting skills." Fionn interrupted, swinging his stick around again.
"Fionn, I told you to put the stick down!" she reprimanded and the boy looked a little sheepish as he dropped it. She was taking care of the children again and was just about to finish the story she was telling them. "As I was sayin, the brave Princess fought Abhartach and was victorious, saving her bride and living happily ever after-" she tried but was cut off by Sabia who asked
"But wait, How can there be a happily ever after if her mother dies?"
"Wel-" she started to answer though she had no idea what to say. But she was interrupted as Naesa chimed in,
"And before she could even meet her daughter in law, how tragic." On the last word the girl put her hand to her brow and flopped back dramatically, landing in Sabia's lap. Sabia looked at her for a second before they both burst out laughing.
Lythian wasn't quite sure how to explain how happy endings could still happen even if not everyone survived but from the looks on Etain and Oisin's faces she thought they might have already known.
"Do you want to hear another story?" Oya said from where she sat in the corner with Oisin, she must have sensed the boys darkening mood at the mention of the subject.
"How about a story about Miss Ominae!" Fionn blurted. He then stood up and walked proudly around with his stick waving it about, as he said, "You know Miss Ominae said that in a few years when I start training I'll be really good, she said she could already tell!" He was so proud of himself. "I watch the fighters while me and my dad are working with the dogs and I see her training the new recruits." Lythians brow furrowed, wasn't Ominae some sort of elder?
"Ominae trains the new recruits." She directed this question at Oya.
"Miss Ominae is in charge of Rebel recruitment and training." Oya barely managed to get this out before Fionn blurted,
"And When I get old enough she's gonna train me and I'm gonna get a real sword and a real bow and I'm gonna fight with the rebels!" Fionn was jumping around now and nearly hit some of the kids as he swung his stick around.
Lythian patted him on the head and said calmly, "I'm sure you'll be a fierce warrior." But in her head her thoughts were racing. Her first thought was that she should try to convince Ominae to let her train. If Ominae was incharge of training, especially beginners then she would be the person to talk to about that, though she didn't know what Ominae would be able to do about her powers. Her second thought was that she would have to get around Bevin and more importantly Elexis. If Elexis didn't want her watching the kids then she certainly wouldn't want her training. But she was mostly recovered now anyway, and she wanted to pull her wait.
