Brenna POV
Beep. Beep. Beep.
The chime on my phone caught me off guard, even though I was already awake. I scrambled in the darkened room to shut off the alarm. Once the sound finally stopped, I glanced at the time and realized I needed to start getting ready for my shift.
It’d been a couple of weeks now since I had arrived at the Manor, and I felt like I was becoming more comfortable with the ins and outs of my new day-to-day life.
I had finally adjusted to my new sleep routine and was usually up before my alarm would go off at seven each night. Had I known night shifts were so beneficial for me, I probably would have never fallen out of the workforce while I was with Scott.
“I wonder if he’s going to show up today,” I said to myself as I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom.
