Chapitre 142: Death

Seeing Lockhart frozen in place, Luke stepped forward and picked up the wand that had fallen to the ground.

Next, he planned to kill Lockhart and attempt to summon him back through the reincarnation of the dirt technique. If it failed, well, it would be worth the risk. But if it worked...

Thinking about his future plans, Luke shook his head. He still didn't know if the reincarnation of the filthy earth would work. He decided to visit Slytherin's basement tonight for an experiment.

Luke glanced at Lockhart and snapped his fingers, sending Lockhart's body into an alien space with Kamui. With that, two important materials were now secured.

As for today's Dark Magic defense class taught by Lockhart? Given that it was mostly just reading from the book, Luke figured the students wouldn't mind his absence—in fact, they might even be pleased.

Inside the Hogwarts Great Hall, after dealing with Lockhart, Luke headed to the Gryffindor table.

"This way."

Seeing Luke arrive, Hermione paused her quill and waved him over.

"Why are you so slow?" she asked, a hint of impatience in her voice.

Luke had been gone for half an hour to look for Lockhart and had just returned, almost late for the first class. Harry and Ronald had already finished breakfast and left for the classroom.

"No way, Lockhart and I had a long conversation, and he even tried to teach me some spells," Luke said with a shrug.

"Teach you to use spells?" Hermione tilted her head and laughed softly. It seemed more likely that Luke had been teaching Lockhart spells.

"Let's have breakfast. After that, we have to go to the History of Magic class," Hermione said, resting her chin on her hand.

"What were you writing?" Luke asked, glancing at the notebook filled with dense letters on the table while he ordered a pumpkin pie and an omelette.

The conjoined font looks beautiful, and the notes are very neat, like a professionally published book.

"It's the knowledge of constellation divination," Hermione said proudly, handing the notebook to Luke . "I wrote down everything you said last night."

Luke took a sip of black tea and looked at the contents of the notebook. The divination details about Sagittarius, Orion, and others he discussed last night were very comprehensive, and there were even pictures of the constellations.

"Well written!" Luke praised.

In his opinion, Miss Hermione belonging to Gryffindor was surprising given her meticulousness.

After breakfast, Hermione took Luke 's hand and hurried to the History of Magic classroom. When they arrived, the ghost professor hadn't yet appeared. Since they arrived late, they had to sit in the front row, which was usually avoided by students in Professor Cuthbert Binns' class due to his monotonous lectures.

Soon, a ghostly figure floated through the wall. It was Cuthbert Binns, neatly dressed.

"Now, take out your history of magic textbook, we're going to continue..." Professor Binns began his solitary lecture, his voice almost hypnotic.

Luke couldn't help but rest his chin on his hand. After a while, he lay his head on the table, eyes slowly closing uncontrollably.

Meanwhile, Miss Hermione listened intently to Binns' lecture, diligently taking notes. Luke relied on Miss Granger's notes to pass or do well in the History of Magic exams.

Hermione glanced sideways at Luke , who was now asleep, and poked him lightly. He didn't respond, which made her smile.

It turns out her little boyfriend wasn't all-powerful after all!

In the history of magic class, Miss Hermione felt that the gap between her and Luke wasn't that big.

"I suspect Cuthbert Binns is more effective than a stun drug," Ronald said, yawning, with a tear forming in the corner of his eye.

Harry, sitting next to him, nodded in agreement. "Would you like to play on the lawn?"

At that moment, Harry made a suggestion.

"Neither Gryffindor nor Slytherin have classes this afternoon. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw have a Defense Against the Dark Arts class, though."

"You two go ahead. Hermione and I won't be joining," Luke said, shaking his head to decline Harry's invitation. He and Hermione had planned a quiet afternoon together, and Quidditch wasn't part of their plans. Plus, Luke had some experiments to conduct that evening, so they couldn't spend the entire time in the Room of Requirement.

"Why are you always busy at night?" Hermione asked, giving Luke a curious look.

"I've just been busy these past few days. It'll pass soon," Luke replied, gently stroking her brown curly hair. He had been working on experiments related to reincarnation and needed to find a way to deal with Tom Riddle's diary, not to mention the basilisk hidden in the Chamber of Secrets.

That afternoon, Luke and Hermione spent time together by the edge of the Black Lake, chatting like any young couple. After dinner, they parted ways at the staircase—Hermione heading to her dormitory on the eighth floor and Luke heading to the Slytherin common room in the dungeons.

"Goodbye!" Hermione called out, giving him a gentle hug.

"Goodbye," Luke replied, watching as she turned and ascended the stairs with a book in her arms. He then made his way to the Slytherin dormitory.

Inside, Luke turned on the bedside light and broke a Momotaro rice ball into small pieces, feeding them to his frog cub, who eagerly munched on them while wearing its little green lotus-leaf hat.

After reading "Wandering with the Werewolf" for a while, Luke noticed it was around 1:00 in the morning. Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle had long since fallen asleep, their steady breathing filling the quiet dormitory.

Luke slipped out of bed, pulling on a black turtleneck sweater. He quietly made his way to the Slytherin common room, illuminated by the flickering oil lamps in the Gothic-style hall. Using Kamui, he phased through the underground stone floor, entering a dark tunnel.

Luke used his wand to cast a Lumos spell, lighting up the area around him. As he continued down the tunnel, he eventually arrived at a stone platform, covered in dust and seemingly undisturbed for ages.

He retrieved the sluggish Lockhart and the petrified Death Eater from his storage, and they both fell to the ground.

"First things first, I need to deal with Lockhart," Luke muttered to himself, preparing to take action.
