Jake picked up a spear as it was used similar enough to a staff that he could use it effectively, but also had a lot of piercing power on thrust. That being said, it wouldn't be too useful because of his claws, but no weapon really would be as he couldn't hold anything.
"I'll go easy on you, but make sure you try, and use everything you got. Ready?"
"Oh actually I'm really drained from learning the technique and can't do it."
He said with an embarrassed smile as he scratched his head.
"Well then try your best."
Whenever he gained stats, they wouldn't fill up the resource until it was restored another way like sleep.
She lunged at him with a wooden sword with a downward slash from the left, he quickly moved the middle of the spear to block it. He pushed her back and did a spin to generate momentum before thrusting directly at her head. She seemed to realize that he was strong even without the claws, he still couldn't begin to compare to her but he wasn't too shabby. She ducked down to avoid the spear and began to go on the offensive. Slash after slash she alternated sides and switched up her patterns to make it nearly unreadable in mass quantities. He could only block a few, and got hit by the rest. Bruises started to appear all over his skin as the blunt blade slammed into him over and over again until he dropped to the floor.
"Not too bad, but you can barely block anything, you should work on your defense. Let's go again."
He continued to lie on the floor, feeling like he was fainting again. He had fainted a lot over the past couple days and was starting to get a feeling before it happened. He tried to get up, but only got half way through when his legs gave out and his face planted into his homeworld.
He was still covered in bruises when he woke up. Jake had a shower that made his bones hurt and his body ache. He walked out to the kitchen where his mom and dad were waiting.
"Last day home, Are you ready for your first day of school? Oh and hold this sign, I want to take a picture."
"Mom, I'm 18, are you sure we need to do this again?"
"Yes, now be a good boy. I won't see you for months."
She gave him a pouty face and put the sign in his hands. He went through the process of taking what felt like a million photos before he got on the train. He took the train until he made it to school.
He and Don talked about how they had become stronger in the past few days. Don had gotten the racial skill orkish rage, which gave him bonus stats and mana at the cost of health and stamina. His stamina could also be overdrawn, which worked well with his greatsword. Jake showed him his bracelet and told him he got an inventory. They both were close enough to show everything except their trump cards. They had arrived at their new campus, where they would begin their new lives.
They would spend the next 6 years training, working, and finding their place in the word. One of the most expensive experiences, but worth it in almost every way. Most people would pay off all the debt they had by the end of year five because of the cleared dungeons and rewards. With powerful teachers, competitive peers, and everything to gain, the awakened started on their journeys.
Well that's what it should be. All of this was true, but it was almost a million dollars to attend for the six years and more than half of all students' first years drop out, and because it required all the payments up front, most people lost their life savings in just a few months. On top of that it was dangerous and it wasn't uncommon to die in school.
This university was ranked 132 in the world with a campus to look like it. The 100,000 first years were split into groups randomly to prevent descrimanton. In the second week each student would choose their own party to dorm with, train with, and be friends with.
The train station was completely packed when they arrived. Most people were slowly shuffling but some could fly or find another way to go faster while doing it. The 4 mile walk took about 2 hours, which is impossibly slow for an awakened person. When they had made it to the main hall, the rows of chairs were mostly full, but they found spots near the middle as the top and bottom had the bad and good students perspectivally.
"Welcome Students!!"
A loud voice echoed through the hall making everyone stop in their tracks and go into dead silence.
"You will not all make it out alive, but the ones who do will shape the future."
"Inside your orientation bag, there is a small capsule that contains your group. 1,000 people will be in each of the hundred groups, open the capsule and place the badge inside on your heart to be transferred to your building."
His words came out and just a few seconds later everyone began to disappear. His capsule had a purple flower on it, and he followed the instructions before disappearing and reappearing in his new home.

He stood in front of a fountain that was surrounded by 10 large skyscrapers. They were once again split up, but this time into groups of 100 and were sent into their buildings, then split into groups of 10 to go to their floor. In the commons of his dorm, 15 students were waiting. There were two 6th years, three 4th years, five 3rd years and the other five were second years. The 25 students each had their own room, and on top of that they had 2 large kitchens and living rooms.
