Chapitre 2: Chapter 2

"hahaha haha boy whats with the confused face?" the big man asked

Knowing he was referring to my current expression before schooling my features.

"So who are you and where am I?"

"You are in my hall, and my followers call me the drowned god,"

"Huh, I thought you would be some cthullu looking thing based on the hype." I asked while scratching the back of my head

"Is that so? Would you rather see me the same way as non-believers do?" The man stated as I watched him slowly shift into a floating kraken the size of a skyscraper, and the surroundings shift into the murky depths of the sea and looking into the milky white eyes of the kraken I can only feel a primitive fear of a predator and mustering my courage I shook my head in the negative.

"Old Viking look is much better. Please shift back," I stated, trying to keep the fear out of my voice.

As the surroundings shift back into the hall, I let out a sigh of relief and turn back to the god.

"So you brought me here?" I ask

"Aye."

"For what reason?" I continue to ask

"To be my champion and join the great game. A game of the gods!" spoke the god with obvious anticipation in his voice.

"Do you mean the other gods of westeros?" I asked, feeling the solid ball of ice forming in my gut from what his answer may entail.

"Bwhahahahaha Aye boy, they are real, and if it wasn't for the doom, the valyrian gods would join this game of ours, but no, the flying lizards doomed themselves and birthed two new gods r'hllor and the many faced cunt." He stated at first joyus before his tone switched to a very human emotion, melancholy before anger took over before growling out another statement.

"If it wasn't for those cunts there would be more players but no the seven faced cunt had to snuff out the belief of my fellow kin among the westeros pantheon leaving only the old gods, just a bunch a sentient trees I'd you ask me, and myself left of the original pantheon. Perhaps some may return, but most lay dead even the storm god and that one I took personally for them taking away my rival. Enough of the gloom I shall only give you one boon from your game for now, and you shall be aged to 12, but should you not follow my rules, those very powers will be stripped from you."

At the end of his statement, he directed a rather scathing glare with his soul, piercing eyes, making me feel as if with but a mere thought he could eviscerate my very soul.

Gulping, I ask another question.

"...and what rules do I need to follow?"

"Well, for starters welp, you shall not get rid of the Iron price, nor shall thralls be made illegal for the weak must serve the strong, but you may attempt to change treatment if you can even accomplish such a thing. Finally, you must never facilitate kin slaying and punish those who do so, " He stated with steel in his voice as if daring me to question it

Thinking upon these rules, I know I have a very rocky road ahead of me, but I must ask, "And should I refuse?" and watching all merth flee his face as he stated

"Then your soul shall be devoured by the sea to never be seen again."

Soon enough, a boisterous smile returned, and with a laugh, he spoke again

"Bwhahahahaha, that should be enough talk for now, boy. A fight awaits, and your fate sealed, I would wish you luck, but instead, I'll remind you of something, What Is Dead May Never Die, but Returns Harder and Stronger Do not forget this, boy now go."

With that final sentence, a kraken tentacle burst through the doors, wrapping around me like a great serpent before dragging me into the darkness with a scream as darkness claimed me.

Waking to a spray of liquid hitting my face, I jolt upright looking all around seeing I'm in a broken fort and from the constant melee going on in front of me, it seems the greenlanders have taken the gate. quickly looking beside me, I realized it was not water that splashed my face but blood of a Tyrrell bannerman dead next to me with an arrow through his throat.

Quickly getting to my feet, I realized that the whole encounter was real, and if I wanted to survive, I would have to fight. Feeling around myself I realize I have the equipment I picked out from within the game so grabing the axe off my back I fell its weight in my hand as I try to come to terms with what I must do with it. I'm shaken from my thoughts by a bellowing soldier in lannister livery charging at me. Quickly stepping aside as he misses me with his sword while I ready my axe in a defensive position waiting for him to make a move and he does raise his sword high, and with a yell he brought it down but an odd thing happened as his swing became slower and slower along with my surroundings bit I remained able to move as I please. Realizing what was happening, I knocked his blade wide and dug my axe between his shoulder and neck right in the gap of his plate. It was the moment my axe dug in when time returned to normal and looking from the blade back to the man I know will die by my hand and watching the clear shock in his eyes as they lose all light, I rip my axe out with blood splattering my face. Swallowing the bile that threatens to rise, I turn to the other fights surrounding me and see many deaths of both iron men and greenlander alike. Making my decision, I walk behind a greenlander currently trying to kill an iron man defending against the greenlanders hacking blows with a stolen sheild and raising my axe I drive it deep in between the man's shoulder blades and the man died with a grunt falling to the side with my axe still in his back. Reaching my hand down, I pull the fighter up with one hand while the other removes the axe from the corpse.

"What's your name?" I ask the man

"Rickon and you?" the man asks

I thought for a second, knowing I'll need a new name and deciding a name to work as an inside joke for myself. I tell the man my new name, "Ragnar," and the man looks at me oddly before asking me a question.

"So, your part, northman then."

"Perhaps but I'll never know for my ma is dead," I responded

"You speak like a lord," he stated

"I hold no lands and own no ship," I blandly stated back

"That may change at the end of this," he stated with a smirk

And with Rick on by my side, we would go group to group killing many greenlanders as our group grew from two to four to six to ten, and before I knew it, I had twenty men following me each of us covered in blood some wounded and other like me only winded and bloody. By now, other greenlanders have noticed what I was doing as the two sides charge each other with me at the head. A great melee ensues. With a scream, I lop the head off of one man only to turn around and cut the hand of another before he could bring his mace down upon my back. As the final greenlander falls within the fort, only about a hundred men are left, and as we go to the gate, we see more ships coming to land ashore each with the Tyrrell rose on their sails. Seeing the men begin to despair, I had to say something.

"I a lad of two and ten is willing and ready to fight, are you not men why do you look upon battle with despair when what awaits is not death, but to join the drowned gods hall! We shall continue to fight for What Is Dead May Never Die!" I shouted, gaining everyone's attention

As the men look to each other, some are unsure and others angry at being called out by a lad, but many join me, making a shield wall on the beach shout our war cries to the approaching ships unknowingly our emotion effecting the waves as the drowned god shows his support making the water we stand in rather calm.

Tyrrell Knight POV:

Standing onboard our ship, we approach a fort that should have fallen now, but it seems those barbaric dogs refuse to die.

"Captain prepare the men for battle it seems the lions me are infirm so we must clean up what's left." With a chuckle, the captain left to carry out his orders.

Looking upon the hundred so survivors huddled on the beach trying to make a sheild wall, but what can they do against the three hundred men that lord Mace has placed under my command. I shall not fail my lord, or I shall die trying. As our ships get closer, the tide begins to go out, beaching our ships still going full speed, and some of the men fall overboard to be met by the blades of the Iron born.

"Go now, men, kill these savages. For the king and the Tyrells and the seven, " I shouted, jumping into the water drawing my sword and raising my sheild against an axe and looking upon the savage that would dare strike him. I saw a boy dressed in half plate black like ink wielding many weapons on his person but favoring an axe of some sort amd its as I raise my sword that all of a sudden I'm blinded as I feel a dagger being driven in my visor of my helmet as the stranger claims my confused soul.

MC POV:

Pulling the dagger from the knights helmet as he drops like a puppet with its strings cut.

"Kill the greenlanders! Kill them all!" I shouted

With a war cry from all of the iron born of "What Is Dead May Never Die," we pushed the greenlanders as they tried to keep us from their ship.

Of course, they failed, and once on board, we were unrivaled for who knew how to fight on a ship better than the iron born, and of the four ships that arrived, three are still usable and looking to the spare wood and many corpses a devilish idea grows in my mind as I rally the men.

"If we are to die, then we shall assault the rear of the usurpers army, and we shall join the drowned gods hall, but first, I have an idea to stick it to those seven loving fools. So gather the wood and the corpses we have work to do."
