Chapitre 13: This is Lovely... I Guess
I lead him to the main hall way and don't stop walking, not giving him a chance to inspect anything.
"Will you slow down?" said Damen. I smirked.
"You'll have to keep up. I don't have time to waste. Look here and there so I can finish with this request" I said with no concern.
"Huh, I am a lot hard to deal with, Marissa and very dangerous... So watch out" he warned. I could feel sweat forming on my forehead and I quickly swiped it away. How can someone like him make me feel like this? Why does this panic in me feels as if I've already been through this? I bite my lip and cross my arms.
"What do you mean when you say 'dangerous'? I murmured in fear.
"I think we both will find out soon enough. Maybe after your mine" he answered and I could imagine him giving a satisfied smile behind my back that he's finally got my attention. Great
way to get it darling, I thought and rolled my eyes.
"Where are we going now?" he said, sounding tired and bored.
"Outside" I said.
"How exciting" he let out an exhale.
"It isn't even something you should be tired of hearing, Damen" I chided.
"Sure. So... How are those lovely sisters of yours?" he changes the subject. I raised my eyebrows but don't go for the thought to slap him on his pretty face and tell him that it is none of his business.
"They are very well great. Thank you for your concern" I replied in sarcasm.
"Ah well. Rumor says it that one of your sisters is in love with a slave. True or not?" he asked, amusement in his tone. My eyes go wide and I gape at that.
"One of my sisters? How? And when did this become a rumor?" I stammered and stop in my tracks and look at him. He smiled, but in a cruel way.
"You didn't know?" he arched an eyebrow.
"No... I didn't" I replied. He took my hand in his and kissed it softly. I blushed. I try pulling my hand away from his grasp but he doesn't budge.
"Id like to have my hand back" I said. He grinned.
"Your pretty when you blush"
which of course makes me blush even more! I was sure my face looked like a tomato. He still doesn't let go and I give up. I let him keep my hand in his and I lead again. When we're out from the mansion, I take him to the stables first and I told him how things worked here and who to go to if any of the horses went missing, which I'm sure won't happen.
"That's a lovely white horse" he remarked. I shift my eyes onto Laura.
"Thank you. She's my horse, Laura" I said.
"Your horse" he repeats which was...cute, I guess and made me smile a little.
"Let me show you the green house" I insisted. He nods his head in agreement. I take him to our beautiful green house. It was dark in here but it glowed with the fireflies inside. It all looked so... Romantic.
"This is amazing" he muttered.
"It is" I whispered. He looks at me and his eyes are glowing like stars. I chew my lip.
"Your eyes are..." what should I say?
"Glowing?" he asked. I nodded but that's not what I wanted to say.
He smiles and his arm snakes behind my waist and he pulls me to him. And I know this is very wrong and I should pull back but something about him makes me stay in position and not neglect him. He face was few inches away from mine. And he was about to... But a shadow upon us both made me push him off. Damen raised his eyes at me and gave a puzzled look. He shrugged.
"Your choice, Madame. I will see you later. Have a nice evening" he said and left the greenhouse. The shadow was no longer there. What a night. I sighed.
