Back in the city, Kiba manned the counter of the bakery. Whenever there weren't any customers, he would glance at a small, purple paper bag with a red ribbon placed on top of the counter beside him. He would then sigh loudly after each glance.
He actually had been doing that for the past few days, after the shopping trip he did with Kuchi. Unbeknownst to anyone, Kiba was ultimately provoked by Kuchi's words about losing the one he likes to someone else. Thus, when the two of them walked around on their own, Kiba went back to buy something that caught his eye earlier that day.
The sighing continued and so Kiba's father finally decided to say something.
"I really didn't want to meddle… but you've been staring at that gift for a few days already. And your loud sighs are unmistakable as well. Why don't you just give it to the person you want to give it to?"
"I would have done that if I could, Pops! Why do you think I'm having trouble here?"
Kiba quickly looked at his father.
