The resources the City Lord had secured from giving the patriarch of the Fridall clan to the Ancient Blaze Clan instead of the Royal Palace had not only helped promote the realm of the mages in the newly forged alliances against the Gordons clan but also elevated his son to the high ranks.

Despite his efforts to support the other two City Guardians, only one had reached the high rank realm and was also due for promotion to City Commander.

This mage, named Marcus, was often referred to as Sir Marcus and had consistently followed Alistair, the City Lord's son.
