Chapitre 70: ch70- Relentless Assault

The number of Belos creatures gathered on the first level of the altar exceeded three thousand, while the Yellow Sand Beasts, hidden within the swirling sandstorms, were too numerous to count. Based on their past experience capturing resource points, the lowest-level guardian monsters usually numbered in the hundreds and were scattered. This was the first time Alex and his team had encountered a situation where thousands of Belos creatures were being held back by another group of monsters.

As the Belos monsters found themselves unable to advance, they noticed Alex and his team entering the resource point. Without hesitation, they turned and charged toward them.

But with their divine gear and dramatically increased power, Daniel and the others didn't flinch. Still hungry for battle, they unleashed a barrage of attacks.

Under the effect of Alex's most powerful **Dragon God's Pressure** aura, the attributes of all monsters within a 600-meter radius were reduced by 30%. Although it wasn't as strong as the 50% debuff from the **Prologue** quest scroll, the combination of the buff and debuff gave Alex's team a crushing advantage.

No matter if the Belos monsters were blue or purple, most were instantly killed with one hit. Their health, ranging from a few hundred to just under a thousand, crumbled under the team's high-damage attacks. The monsters seemed like they were made of paper.

The main difference between Alex and the rest of the team was the speed and efficiency of their sweeps. Without using skills or special effects, the rest of the team cleared monsters at a slower pace compared to Alex. Even with complete divine gear sets and abilities like **Explosive Flame**, their basic attack damage wasn't enough to wipe out swaths of enemies the way Alex could.

When relying on skill-based attacks, energy consumption quickly became an issue. By the time they had slaughtered thousands of Belos creatures, most of the team—except for Alex—had already used up more than half of their energy.

Facing the Yellow Sand Beasts hidden in the sandstorm, Alex charged forward. Using the **Raging Wind** special effect of his **Dragon God Wings**, amplified by the **Dragon God's Might** boost, he blasted the sandstorm and the beasts within a 60-meter radius, sending them flying.

With the sandstorm broken apart, its power diminished considerably. Alex and Jenny seized the opportunity to take down the now-exposed Yellow Sand Beasts.

These creatures were stronger and had higher health than the Belos monsters, so fewer teammates could land a one-hit kill. Some of the team members, whose attributes had not yet fully improved, were no longer able to achieve instant kills.

However, this didn't slow down their progress, as Alex's kill speed alone was faster than the rest of the team combined. With damage exceeding 10,000 last night, even his splash damage, at just 4%, dealt hundreds of points. Alex's attack power had surely increased beyond that, and his spear slashes not only guaranteed instant kills but also obliterated any Yellow Sand Beasts within ten meters of his strikes.

While the number of monsters guarding the resource point was smaller and less dense compared to the Belos horde, Alex's efficient kills were no less devastating. Each of his spear strikes would still take down at least ten or more beasts.

After they cleared the first level of the altar, the higher levels, despite containing stronger but fewer dog-like monsters, were dispatched even faster.

Even the boss of the resource point, the **Stardust Twin-Tailed Beast**, which summoned a massive sandstorm in an attempt to overwhelm the team, was swiftly defeated. Alex instinctively raised his hand, countering the boss's grand move with a single, devastating slash.

The scene left Daniel and the others stunned, and even the boss seemed momentarily bewildered.

Imagine a towering, ten-story-tall beast, roaring with authority and anger at the intruders, conjuring a massive black cloud of sandstorm to obliterate them. But with just a single swing of Alex's blade, the storm reversed in mid-air and vanished back into nothingness.

If a few falling leaves had been added to the scene, the boss might have won an award for best depiction of melancholy.

After Alex's **Sword Rebound** ability dispelled the boss's ultimate attack, he sped toward it and delivered a finishing blow. The entire fight was fluid and over in moments, leaving the boss no chance to react.

When the group finally captured the resource point, they realized it had taken just over 30 minutes.

The only reason it took that long was that Daniel and the others couldn't keep up with Alex's monster-clearing speed. Once they noticed how fast their energy was being drained, they became more conservative with their skills and special abilities, opting for single slashes to kill monsters, which severely impacted their efficiency.

After regrouping, the team quickly abandoned the resource point and set their sights on the next one.

Having learned their lesson, Daniel and the others no longer wasted energy on low-level blue Belos monsters, focusing on hunting the purple ones instead. The blue creatures were left to Alex, who could easily wipe them out en masse.

This method greatly improved their efficiency—aside from Alex's increased stamina consumption, the rest of the group was able to progress much faster.

Once the monsters surrounding the next resource point were cleared, they entered the site and resumed their relentless slaughter alongside Alex, now determined to keep pace with him.

Compared to the low-level Belos monsters, the creatures guarding the resource point provided more valuable experience points for Jenny and her team. Killing these monsters also yielded significant merit points, which the team desperately needed—after all, they each owed Alex at least three million credits.

Eager to repay their debts, they killed monsters as fast as they could to accumulate enough points.

But no matter how hard Michael and the others tried, the number of creatures they killed was still less than a third of Alex's total. Of all the monsters in the resource point—roughly 70% of them, including the boss—were slain by Alex.

With his vast wealth and resources, Alex had begun to show no restraint. After lending his teammates a fortune in credits and leading them on a rampage to capture resource points, he no longer held back. Whether it was bosses or low-level guards, he destroyed everything in his path without mercy, leaving only a few elite monsters for the others.

Daniel and the others could only watch in exasperation, powerless to stop him.

Even if they asked Alex to leave more monsters for them, their hunting speed wasn't even close to keeping up. At that point, it made more sense to just move on to the next resource point.

Jenny and the rest—five SR-grade ascendants with divine gear and flying wings, along with 22 R-grade ascendants—couldn't even match Alex's kill count or his speed. This left them in an awkward position, as they found themselves completely outclassed.
