Since their kiss, Leo and Scarlett were back to playing the cat and mouse game. At times Leo wasn't sure who was the cat and who was the mouse. He followed who had turned into his obsession across the world.

Sometimes, Leo made it known to Scarlett that he was there, plainly in view, yet he would never approach her. He wanted her to feel… anxious. He also wasn't sure if this was a vampiric side effect, getting the thrill of hunting his master, or if each encounter was a thrill in itself.

Scarlett's behaviour was also confusing. At times, she seemed eager, almost willing to let his stake pierce her heart. Then, at the last minute, she would pull away.
