At her brother’s coronation, an enemy’s army ripped through the kingdom and destroyed her homeland. Kleopatra Lykoudis, an illegitimate princess, was the only remaining survivor. Trapped in her palace walls for most of her life, she was used for other people’s needs and gains. She has a special ability that helps her see into the depths of peoples past, present, and future. With a touch, she can see glimpses of memories and future events. However, she can only use this ability by her own will and can not see her own future. Kleopatra knew of the attack of the enemy, and she graciously let it happen.

In the midst of fire and terror on the palace, a man named Niklaus Dragunov came into her chambers with a bloody sword and sullen eyes. His bloodthirsty temper diminishing when she reveals his darkest secrets to him with a touch of her hand, his sword dropped. Kleopatra is a woman of many tricks. Striking a deal with Niklaus, the two head to the North together.

Will Kleopatra’s plan work in helping Niklaus possess the throne? Will he be able to keep his promise to Kleopatra?
