Chapitre 14: Ch. 13 Morning Run

After the kids finished breakfast that morning, they gathered in the field to form a giant ball around something. Sharleen, who had just finished her breakfast, was curious about the source of the crowd of her friends.

"Hey, what happened? What did you guys see?"

"That. A boy has been running around the dormitory field since earlier. Hey, aren't you classmates with him?" said a child as soon as he saw Sharleen's face.

"Me?" Sharleen's current position was at the very back of the children's row, and her tiny frame made her unable to see what was in the middle of the crowd of her dorm mates.

"If I'm not mistaken... his name is Paskha, right?"

Sharleen gasped in disbelief and immediately tried to make her way through the crowd. "Excuse me; I'd like to make it through." With great difficulty, Sharleen walked through her friends one by one until she arrived at the front and saw her seatmates running around this large field.

As Paskha ran up to her, Sharleen decided to run with the boy and greet him. "Paskha, what are you doing?"

"Oh, morning, Sharleen." Paskha was too focused on his training and didn't care about the crowd of his friends that he didn't realize that Sharleen was also running with him. "I'm practicing my morning run."

"I will keep you company."

Paskha just gave a smile, happy to hear that. At first, he was starting to feel tired, but now accompanied by his beloved girl, his tiredness suddenly vanished instantly.

"How many times have you roamed around this field?"

"Uhm… I didn't count it. But at least I've been running for almost three hours."

Sharleen almost tripped at this from her shock. "Three hours? Without stop?"

"Uh-huh."

"Why?"

"I want to test my physical strength to withstand the gravitational field."

"But the time needed to open one point is only two hours. Why are you still running?"

That was because Paskha wanted to open all three of his points in succession, which meant he had to endure the effects of gravity for six hours.

"Sharleen, you will run out of breath quickly if you run while talking."

Sharleen made a sullen face, but no longer spoke. However, her stamina could not match Paskha's, and gradually, she could no longer run according to the rhythm of her seatmates. Her breathing became erratic, and sweat poured profusely down his shirt.

Learning that his friend was starting to feel tired, Paskha slowed down and kept up with Sharleen's pace. Sharleen didn't realize what Paskha was doing and thought she had caught up with her friend's speed, and her body felt lighter.

Half an hour later, Sharleen felt all her strength being sucked out by something, leaving no power, and so did Paskha. His sweat started pouring down his forehead, neck, and back.

'Three and a half hours was my limit for now.' Noted Paskha.

Even though he used the stamina division technique with soul force on both legs, he still couldn't break through for four hours. On the contrary, Sharleen only lasted half an hour—it didn't even reach halfway to open the first point.

"Are you alright?" even though he was out of breath, Paskha could still ask in one breath.

Sharleen wanted to answer him, but her breathing was irregular, and she had trouble finding her voice and could only shake her head. She felt all the blood pooling in her brain to make her head spin around. When Sharleen lifted her face and saw her friend there, she could see two Paskhas.

"Sharleen? Sharleen!!"

That was all she heard before darkness finally took over her vision.

Paskha panicked when he saw Sharleen suddenly faint before his eyes. Sharleen's head would hit the ground if not for his agility and quick reflexes to catch the girl.

Paskha immediately checked the girl's pulse and investigated Sharleen's expression. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found out Sharleen had only fallen asleep.

"Sharleen?" Leona immediately rushed out of the crowd of children and grabbed Sharleen from Paskha to hug her. "What's wrong with her? Why did she faint?"

"Maybe she pushed herself to the point of exhausting her soul force and stamina without realizing it. Let her sleep until noon, and she'll be alright."

It would be faster to recover if Sharleen could absorb the mana in the air. Alas, the three basic points haven't been unlocked yet, so the only way to recover is to sleep.

"Why are you all gathered here?" a voice full of authority yet sounding familiar filled the dormitory courtyard.

All the children immediately gasped, and each went back to the dormitory or straight to school without even knowing the owner of this voice.

Of course, they didn't need to find out as they were all very familiar with this type of voice—it was none other than Sir Clove.

After all the children left the field, all that was left were Paskha and Sharleen, who fell asleep in Leona's arms.

Sir Clove walked over and crouched down to see how Sharleen was doing. He directed his palm towards Sharleen's forehead and channeled his soul force into Sharleen's body sufficiently.

"She'll wake up in a few hours."

"Thank you, Sir Clove." Leona and Paskha said together.

Sir Clove took Sharleen in his arms gently and stood up. "Leona, join your friends at school, and you… come with me."

Paskha swallowed nervously, hearing the firm tone aimed at him. He felt guilty for not realizing Sharleen forced herself, and he wouldn't even be able to forgive himself if something terrible happened to her.

Luckily, the girl was only exhausted enough to fall asleep. But that doesn't mean he did something wrong to Sir Clove, right? Why did he feel that Sir Clove wanted to punish him?

He recalled Sir Clove's punishment in his previous life when he failed to complete his training…

'Take the basket of stones and climb the mountain to the top. You only have until before sunset.'

Suddenly Paskha's whole body broke out in cold sweat. At that time, he was only twelve, but the punishment his teacher gave him was terrible.

What kind of punishment would that man give when he was only seven years old?
