This sore throat is killing me ;-;
~~
- Bell's POV -
After resting, Lili and I went to the dungeon as usual. With Lili's help, I now earned around 50,000 valis, enough to buy multiple potions, but Lili rejected the idea as she hates spending valis. Instead, she bought 5 potions for each of us and bandages for lesser wounds.
Exploring the 9th floor, I stayed vigilant as Lili harvested the killer ant's stone. Seeing a shadow in the distance, I drew my dagger to take care of it, but as the shadow approached, a sense of dread came over me.
*thud* *Thud* The loud footsteps drew closer as my fears came true. The shadowy figure revealed itself to be a red minotaur wielding a giant cleaver.
"Lili!" I shouted at Lili, drawing her attention and making her focus on the minotaur. She quickly abandoned her post and readied herself for battle, drawing the greatsword from her back.
"ROOAAR!" The minotaur roared as it saw us, its red eyes freezing me in my place with fear.
'Hesitation means death.' Xian's words echoed through my head, returning me to reality. Lili's figure dashed away from me, shooting the minotaur and drawing his attention.
"Bell! This is not the time to be daydreaming!" The minotaur quickly gave chase toward Lili as he swung his fist toward her, but she barely dodged.
"O flame, enchant my blade to aid me in my fight, engulf my enemy with your flame, and leave nothing but ashes," I chanted as a small flame appeared on my hand, but I decided to charge it. Looking at the troubled Lili, I joined the fray and slashed the unguarded minotaur's back.
'Tough.' I managed to draw a little blood but not enough to injure. *ROAR!* The minotaur turned to me and swung its cleaver toward me but was interrupted as Lili's greatsword swung downward, striking his shoulder and embedding it deep within.
*ROARRRRR* The minotaur, now enraged, quickly turned around, but Lili, who was still holding the greatsword, was sent flying toward me.
"Aaah," I quickly caught her as the minotaur was confused, as the holder of the greatsword was nowhere to be seen. Looking at the ever-growing flame on my left hand, I forced my mind to flow into my hand faster.
The flame burst into a bright fire, lighting up the whole floor with its light and easily catching the attention of the minotaur. It finally saw me and Lili as it huffed with rage. It looked at the embedded greatsword on his shoulder and grabbed the handle before rushing toward us with a roar.
Pushing the flame into my dagger instantly covered the blade in a raging flame. The flame was condensed enough to drip down to the ground as it hissed once it touched the ground. I readied my stance and dashed toward him.
He swung both his swords at me, but I dodged out of the way and managed to strike his side, inflicting a deep gash and leaving flames on the wound. *ROAR* he wildly swung both of his greatswords in random directions, but I dashed back to recover.
After the minotaur's outburst, I quickly dashed in, taking advantage of the tired minotaur. I managed to inflict multiple wounds across his chest and legs, leaving the minotaur burning from the flames.
*ROAR* The minotaur screamed in pain from the burning flames eating his body as he tried to put it out with futile effort. With no choice, the minotaur rushed toward me, intending to take me down as well. However, a bolt hit his eye, leaving him stunned by the pain.
Intent on finishing him, I dashed at him and swung my dagger over his head, aiming for the killing blow. But in the corner of my eye, I saw Lili's greatsword swinging at me. I moved my dagger to block it, but without stable footing, the strike launched me into a wall.
"BELL!" Lili shouted. I quickly recovered from the impact and dodged an incoming attack from the minotaur.
*BOOM* The strike sent a small shockwave as the minotaur used all of his remaining strength to try to finish me. He tried to follow me with his sword but finally collapsed under the flames consuming him and the excessive bleeding left by the wounds.
"Finally..." I collapsed on the ground as fatigue kicked in and the adrenaline stopped. The last clash was the result of my recklessness, thinking the minotaur was immobilized and my fear blinding me.
