Year's pass in what feels like the blink of an eye. The wars that had ravaged the kingdoms had ceased as a bond unbreakable by simple words or actions formed between the princes as they became kings.
The young are told stories of how their king had joined a hero in saving the world. How they fought as allies, sword in hand back to back against hordes of enemies until the last foe had been vanquished. Then lastly they are told of the brave sacrifice that hero made so that they could live.
To ascend the throne each Prince was required to find a woman to be his Queen. The task was arduous but still they had to do it for their kingdoms. As they searched they found their thoughts shifting back to one girl, in particular, a girl with mismatched eyes that they could never have.
Prince Alaric was the first to find his bride in the most unsuspecting places. He had snuck out one night with Alistar to drink at a bar when she quite literally fell for him. After the two men had finished drinking they were walking from the bar when a scream was heard from above. Their movements sluggish they could only react by instinct as Alaric opened his arms to catch the falling person. When he caught a look at her his heart started beating fast. She had long blonde hair and crystal clear blue eyes. When he put her down she stood to the side but they never took their eyes off of one another. He asked for her name only to be given a fake one. The girl was a runaway who had been "taken in" after the war. When Alaric searched until he found her she was eventually liberated from those who had shackled her to their home.
The second one to find his bride was Prince Gabriel. His way was a little more traditional as his advisors compiled a list of every available noble maiden in their kingdom for him to choose from. However upon looking through the list he couldn't make such a decision based on pictures and words so he held a ball. All night women came up to him trying to win his favor while men approached him hoping to gain status by befriending him. It was tiring to the point that he snuck out to escape to the garden. When he reached the garden he found a figure sitting on a bench and from behind it looked like her... However as he drew closer he saw her hair was brown, not black, and as she turned her green eyes to him his heart spurred into a gallop. She had tear tracks on her fair face that she quickly tried to wipe away. He wanted to make her feel better... To lift that sadness from her face so he did the thing that always helped him. He asked her to take a fly with him. They spoke and opened up to one another far above the kingdom until their laughter flowed out into the night. She told him that her stepmother told her not to get in the way of her stepsister because she wasn't worthy of being a Queen and his heart hurt for her. He had seen nobody in that room that could be worthy if this pure kind-hearted girl in front of him couldn't be. He vowed that night that he would win her heart and then make her his.
Third, was Prince Thadeous. His choice had shocked everyone. After the war the Princes would travel between kingdoms "fostering peace" as they called it but really they were just doing what friends do. On one of his trips to see Caspian, Prince Thadeous had been attacked by a group of beasts when a mystery girl saved him. She had been living alone in the forest and at his behest she returned to his kingdom with him.
Alistar was forth. His bride was of noble birth but was ranked quite low. In their kingdom of demons she was low on the food chain and could only grit her teeth at the injustice she suffered even within her own home. Her father had planned to marry her off to some perverted old man when she took her life into her own hands and ran away. In her escape she bumped into Alistar causing the two to have a bumpy first meeting. In her haste to escape she left a clue to who she was and Alistar using all of his connections to hunt her down unravels the reason for her escape. He became interested in her fiery personality and started to find reasons to meet her until finally admitting his love and asking for her hand.
The meeting of Caspian and his love shook the kingdom. After all who falls in love with the girl sent to kill you. He had awoken one-night having nightmares of losing friends in the battle when a cold blade pressed to his throat. Looking at her masked face as the open window ruffled her hair causing her scent to smack him in the face he couldn't move... Not from fear but because for the first time since the battle he felt alive again. A knock at the door distracted her long enough for her to be disarmed causing her to run but her raven hair stayed long in his mind after she had escaped. His advisors told him there were other fish in the seas, but he wanted that one. Weeks turned into months of sleepless nights hoping she would return... Even if she planned to kill him, but she never did. Then as if by a miracle she walked through the front door of the palace as a new recruit for the guard. Their eyes caught for a moment and recognition flashed in their depths. At first she denied that the intruder had been her but with much groveling and begging she finally admitted her attempt. She had not really wanted yo kill him but it was a job she was tasked with. She had quit her organization shortly afterward to look for honest work which left her with few choices with her work history. He promoted her to become his guard and then eventually convinces her to be his wife.
The sixth and last of the princes to find his love was Kieran. His father had become less of a thorn after he ascended the throne but that did not mean he was all good. Kieran still found himself sneaking out of the castle whenever he could. The forest surrounding their territory became his escape. His advisors were always in a fit when he left but as long as he kept his work up they tried to not constrict him too much. On one of his trips out he came across a girl. Her story was that she had no memory but all the words she said reminded him of Morgianna. At first he told himself just to help her until she got her memory back but as he got to know her he fell in love and didn't want her to leave.
...
Morgianna kept to her word the best she could, popping up whenever she could to see those precious to her but it was hard not to watch the clock above their heads. Today though she would try with all her might to ignore those numbers as if the world depended on it.
"I can't believe you are getting married!" Morgianna was happy for her friend...even more so because the groom was her brother. She normally would have never thought anyone could be good enough for him but if it is Olive she would make this exception. She shook her head at the crazy overprotective mother thoughts that circled through her head.
Olive blushed a deep crimson, she too couldn't believe her luck. To be able to marry Felix was like a dream to her after spending so many years wanting to be with him. Normally at their age they should have been engaged years ago but that was by pre-war standards. With everything that had happened a lot of things had become laxer. "I promise to treat him right and be faithful to him for the rest of our lives. I will be a good wife I promise."
Holding back her laughter Morgianna wanted to shake the silly girl. "I am not the one to make those promises to. Shouldn't you be saying all these sweet things to my brother?" Her words caused Olive to blush even redder but her next sentence was enough to drain that blood straight back out of her face. "Besides I will be watching that you treat him right and that he treats you right. I would hate for someone to have a happy accident." There was a wink to accompany the words but it did not soften the blow at all. "Well let's go get you married! I just heard the music."
Morgianna only appeared to those she wanted to so only her friends and family could see her. She walked slowly behind Olive up the aisle and stood to the right of the groom in the place that would be for the best man. She changed her outfit to match the tuxedos that Fafnir and Alnwick were wearing and earned a snort for her effort causing her to glare at the two men. They had long since given up on trying to figure out what she would do next.
The ceremony was short but sweet causing many ooohs and awuhs. Morgianna stood at the back watching everyone interact and for a moment felt a little bittersweet. Growing up like any child she thought that one day she would be at her own wedding. She would be the bright-eyed bride walking down the aisle with prince charming at the end. Family and friends gathered to celebrate the love between them. As those thoughts circled through her head a certain person's face flashed through her mind and she blushed.
"I hope that blush is because you are thinking of me." A dark seductive purr sounded next to her ear and she whirled to see Death. Her blush deepened making him chuckle. He could practically read her mind with the time they had spent with each other. He reached out with one hand and cupped her cheek. "If I got down on one knee and asked you to marry me, I wonder what you would say."
Shock coursed through her body as she looked into his eyes to see if he was being serious. What she saw nearly caused her heart to stop beating. "I would say yes." Her words were but a whisper but he heard them as if she screamed her answer.
A wicked light flashed through his eyes as he bent his head and kissed her with all the love that had been growing in him over the years. He wanted to show her in that one kiss his devotion to her.
He vowed she would have her wedding and he would show her that day and every day to the rest of time that she was his.

Hello dear readers! While Morgianna's story has come to an end, the world goes on. There is currently at least 2 stories in the work dealing with the crown princes and their own happily ever afters. Plus I of course wouldn't forget to write about my precious Fafnir and Myra. It may take a little while as school is back in session for me and 7 novelas will definitely take time even if they are each less than 50k words.
