Leon and I were stunned. How could a dead person sit up again? This was impossible! The corpse turned her head in our direction mechanically, accompanied by the sound of bones twisting echoing throughout the silent cellar.
I held my breath and Leon grabbed my hand tightly. He started to take a step back. A gust of cold wind came from somewhere and the candle on Ashley's coffin fell to the ground. The fire went out and a little dim light came from the other candle.
A shadow fell on Ashley's pale face. Although her eyes were still closed, we could feel her looking at Leon and me.
"The light recedes, and darkness envelops the earth! The battle of the century has come!" Ashley spoke in a hoarse voice.
When Ashley finished her last word, I saw black smoke coming out of her head. It floated toward the ceiling of the ice cellar and then condensed into a skeletal face. It stared at me, like the god of death from hell.
