" Amy, you left the food open!" I heard Rowan yell from a distance. When he didn't hear a response from me, he walked into the bedroom. "Amy, I'm talking to you. Amy! What are you looking at?" He asked as he came to stand behind me.

Even when I could feel his presence behind me, I couldn't say a word. I didn't even know what to think of all this. Was my mother alright? I wondered for a second. A gnawing feeling of dread seized my body. I remained standing at that spot for quite a long time without realizing it. All I could do was worry. What if those stalkers had gotten my family before coming for us? That question echoed in my mind. I mean, that would explain why he had my mother's phone with him.

" Amy, what's the matter?" Came Rowan's voice, laced with an undertone of concern. " Is this your first time seeing a dead body?" He asked and that was enough to have me snap my eyes at him.
