Vasari didn't have much time left before the Glacial Bay Alchemists completed concocting his paste, thus, soon after succeeding in his comprehension of Vacuum, he asked Princess Sylia to teach him the fundamentals of Matter.
Under Princess Sylia's guidance, Vasari began practising meticulous visualisation and energy work. He would take samples of various substances- water, stone, plants- and over time, break down their physical forms by continuously washing over them with his Mana.
Layer by layer, he dissolved the illusion of solidity until only swirling patterns of energy remained. It became clear to Vasari that 'hard' and 'soft' were wholly subjective terms.
Progressing deeper, Vasari realised all distinctions between states of matter were porous. Liquid, gas, and plasma were distinguished only by the tempo and cohesion of their subatomic symphonies. All emerged from and returned to the same energetic substrate.
It feels good to be back, I missed writing more than I thought I would. I can’t lie, this chapter took me a lot of time to finish mainly because of the many hours spent researching Matter and how other novels handled the space element. I tried to be different, but it’s difficult lol.
Thanks for reading and supporting the novel during my absence, it means a ton.
Also, leading up to the Westernord Sect Competition there will be a few mini-arcs focusing on Vasari and his women (mainly Talia, Gia, Jiang Xia, Witney, and Olivia). I aim to flesh out their relationships more before the tournament arc.
