Alex had his back reclined into his seat as he blankly stared at the scenery outside the huge roof to floor window behind his desk. Anyone would think he was reveling at the sight before him, but Alex was deeply lost in thought.
For reasons known to him he hasn't been in his best of mood since morning. He kept thinking about the memories he hadn't quite thought about in the past years, and all this were because he had let his guard down.
He had opened his heart and let people in, let them imprint on his heart and house so much he was feeling lost even though they weren't gone, yet.
"Sir," Alex snapped back to reality and swivelled his chair around to meet his secretary standing over his desk.
"What is it?" Alex coldly asked.
Ben stretched out an invitation card to him. "You asked me to remind you about the birthday party."
"What birthday party?" Alex asked with a frown as he received the card, and opened it.
