"Ask your heart", he glanced at me.
I got up from the chair angrily, "Grandpa Wen, please tell me. Don't put me in further confusion."
He looked at Mia, "She is awake."
I glanced at Mia. She seemed to be waking up. I went to her.
"Mia", I grabbed her hand.
Mia moved her head a little and then slowly opened her eyes," Umm...*cough*"
Grandpa Wen brought water, "Here give it to her."
I helped her to sit. After drinking water, she looked around and a strange laugh escaped her.
She stared at her hands, "Fate is really cruel."
"Mia, what do you mean? Aren't you happy that you are fine?", I asked her with curiosity.
She lift her head to look at me since she was resting her back on my chest. Our eyes met. There was very little distance between our faces. I could feel her breath. My heart stopped beating at the sight of those beautiful chocolate eyes. I forgot to breathe.
"*cough*", Grandpa Wen's cough brought me back to my senses.
Mia was still staring into my eyes. She smiled, "I thought I would not be able to blink again. You truly do fulfill your promises."
I gave her a blank look. She laughed softly and looked away, "Nevermind. You seem to don't understand my words but you will. Anyways where is the stone?"
I cleared my thought, "You are right I am a bit confused by your words. As for the stone, it is with Hao."
She smiled, "That's great. Can you both leave me alone? I want to think about something."
Grandpa Wen came close to us, "Little Mia but your condition is not stable yet. You still need care."
She looked at him, "Grandpa, please."
He sighed and looked at me, "Lin let's go."
I looked at her, "Mia but how can I leave you alone when I know that you need someone to stay with you."
She sighed, "Lin, please."
I was helpless. Neither could I leave her nor could I anger her.
I looked at her helplessly, "Fine, I will leave but please take care of yourself."
She smiled and nodded.
Mia's POV
After Lin and Grandpa Wen left, I sighed in relief and got up from the bed. It was a bit painful in the back but I had to hurry. After changing my clothes I went to the island.
I rushed towards the Conference Hall.
"Greetings Your Highness", the. leaders standing outside the Hall greeted me.
I nodded to them.
"Your Highness, is everything alright?", the Dragon Leader asked with curiosity.
The Griffin Leader stepped forward, "Your Highness, you summoned us at this late hour. We all are a bit worried."
I smiled at their curious faces, "No need to worry. Soon your rest of worries and fears will be over."
In the meanwhile, Hao came, "Mia everything is done."
I nodded and led the Leaders to the Conference Hall. The doors were closed. The meeting soon ended and the doors of the Hall opened for the leaders to leave. After the leaders left I went to the garden.
Hao came to me, "Mia are you serious? You should not sacrifice your life for these worthless beings."
I smiled and looked at him, "Even if they are worthless still they are my responsibility. I can't run away from my responsibilities like my parents who hated me just because I am cursed."
"Your Highness, he is right we are not worthy of your life", I turned around and saw Feng standing beside a tree with a sad expression on his face.
I looked at him, "Feng, I had told everyone that Lin was the most trusted person but this time I want you, his disciple to be my most trusted person. Please don't betray my trust."
He looked down, "Your Highness, I don't want to be trusted because I know that I will betray your trust."
A sigh escaped my mouth, "I trusted you. Now it's your choice to betray me or not."
I left the island with Hao. Feng had been staring all the time when I was leaving. He will for sure become a great leader. He has powers that he isn't aware of after all he is just like his brother. The most special gem among thousands of gems.
....
"*Heavy breaths*", Mia gets up from the ground and rushes towards a huge spirit with her sword. She uses all her force and hits the spirit. It disappears with a roar and enters the stone that Hao was controlling inside the shield Mia created.
Mia falls to the ground after the spirit disappears. She looks up at the sky breathing heavily and smiles.
"Mia, are you alright?", Hao rushed towards her.
She nods, "I am fine. Have you sent back the stone?"
He nodded, "Don't worry. I did."
Hao looks up at the sky, "Mia, only two are left. Are you sure you will survive?"
Mia chuckles, "I am thick-skinned and won't die that easily."
Hao looks at her with a sad expression," Mia don't be stubborn and let Lin give you the golden blood. He will never deny giving it to you."
She looks at him, "That's why I don't want to have his golden blood. I know he is eager to protect me to the extent that he may die himself. If once I will ask for golden blood then he will find out about my plan and would want to return the Pearl. If he does so.....he will die."
Hao sighs, "But if he finds out that you died just because you want him to live, then he may die for sure."
Mia looks back at the sky," Hao please don't force me. No one can run from death and after all how long will someone run? Isn't it better to let nature take its course?"
Hao sighs helplessly, "Mia you are stubborn."
She laughs. They both remain there on the vast desert land of the Phoenix and watched the night view of the sky.
...
"Miaaaaa.....", Lin screams with his eyes closed.
All of a sudden he opens his eyes and sits straight in the bed with his whole face covered in sweat, "Mia..."
