Chapitre 32: A Friend After Centuries
There was a flash of light and Hao appeared.
"Mia."
Hao came close to me. I was unable to speak a single word. He grabbed my hand and started to feel my pulse.
"You are in great danger. Don't worry I will do something. Now close your eyes and try to connect."
I closed my eyes and then Hao performed magic to connect our souls. Hao transferred a part of his spiritual power to me. After a while, I felt a bit comfortable.
"Mia, you should be grateful to me. You see I almost died for saving you", Hao said while laying next to me.
I looked at him and stroked his head. He felt comfortable. I smiled at his sight, "Don't worry I will remember it and give you a lot of chocolates."
He happily looked at me, "Great, my hard work was worth it. Mia don't be hard on yourself."
"What do you mean?", I asked him confused by his words.
"You know better than me what my words mean. Ask Lin to give you the golden blood. After all, you gave him the Pearl for his protection", Hao said.
"Enough. Don't let anyone know about the Pearl matter. If you told the truth to anyone, I will be very hard on you. As for the blood, you know what it means to give or take one's golden blood. Right now I am not confirm about the mate problem and if I became careless, you know the consequences", I told him.
Don't worry Hao I won't let you, Lin, or someone else suffer because of me.
"Mia, I think you should try to recall your forgotten memory. I won't argue any further", after saying those words Hao fell asleep. I was tired too and soon fell asleep.
The next day I reached the island. I took a deep breath when I reached there. It was so refreshing to feel the beauty of nature. The scent of nature, the sounds of nature, and the sight of nature, all are so refreshing to feel.
I went to the Magical Garden and sat there beneath a tree. Hao appeared next to me.
"Do you still remember your first day?", he asked me.
I smiled and nodded.
He laughed, "That's great. You should remember that. That day the Magical Beasts Leaders, who were known to be fierce and powerful became soft-hearted for a little girl. They were so eager to make you talk but you kept running away. For a while, I was shocked to see them and began to think whether they were those leaders whom people feared."
I laughed at his words and looked at the sky, "You are right. A kid like me whose knowledge about beasts was only limited to books thought that they might want to eat me just like beasts in storybooks do. If it weren't for them I wouldn't have survived this long. My mother who despised me after finding my true identity would have killed me long ago if it weren't for the beasts. This is the reason why I want to live for their happiness. I will protect them and make them live peacefully."
I didn't realize when tears began to flow down my eyes.
I then continued, "I don't know if I can live for too long but no matter what, I will ensure the beast's life before anything happen to me. I will let them live happily. I will bring back the lost peace. Even if it means risking my own life."
Hao came close to my face and removed tears from my face with his small paw-like hands.
"Mia, No one knows it better than me how hard a life you had been living all this long. You are the strongest person I had ever seen. You are the most softhearted and kind person. You had always kept others before you. No matter how much pain you suffer you never complained. Mia, I am proud to be your familiar. No matter what happens I will be always by your side. I am at your command in every second of my life", Hao said with tears in his eyes.
I laughed and patted him on the head, "I never knew that the most powerful familiar like Hao could be this emotional."
He pouted and sat back at his place, "Who is emotional?"
I laughed at his cute pouted face. I picked him up and hugged him tightly, "My little Hao looks so cute when he pouts."
Hao freed himself from my hug, "Hey, human don't pick me up randomly just like a human baby and I am not cute. I am charming. Sometimes I think you want to suffocate me to death by hugging me so tightly."
Hao laughed and then looked at me, "Mia, you know what I had been trapped in that rose for centuries. I had felt very lonely. I always wanted to know how it feels to have someone with whom you can talk and laugh. I had always heard the laughter of those beasts guarding the cave. Their laughter was full of happiness. The moment I became free, I realized that you can have happiness in this world until you have someone by your side to share your happiness. Although you were a little kid but for me your presence had always meant a lot. You gave me the happiness that I had been longing for centuries. I got the friendship and the laughter of happiness that I wanted."
Hao laughed again, "You know sometimes I think if I could transform into human form then I might be your third mate. I don't know what I might do if someday you are not with me. That's why I want to disappear before the moment when you will be no more. I will try my best to protect you so, that I could live longer with my friend."
I smiled at his words, "My dear Hao, you had never expressed your emotions like this before."
Hao flew from his place and hugged me.
