Chapitre 9: Our moms

"Do you know her?" She asked, and he nodded.

The front door was crowded with the press, and the flashes were blinding. They got the bodyguards to keep the press away as they walked towards the SUV parked in front of the restaurant. 

"I'm sorry you had to experience that. I bet it made you uncomfortable." He said. 

"I'll pass on it. It's not a big deal." 

There was an awkward silence in the car as she scrolled through her phone. He stole glances at her from time to time as he tried to focus on his phone as well. 

"You know, I can see you." She turned off her phone and faced him. "What do you want?" She pouted. 

"What do you mean?" 

She observed him for a while. "Okay," she said, shrugging her shoulders and returning her focus to her phone.

'Auction at Christie's in three months.' She read. 

They exchanged eye contact from time to time, and she felt butterflies in her belly as she tried to conceal her blush.
