Her arrival was unexpected. Completely unexpected.
Andrei felt a wave of surprise and growing rage wash over him as his body tightened. What on earth could she want? Why is this place? Why now? Suzanne's parents were still around, what was Josie even doing here in the first place?
Josie exited the vehicle with a deliberate stance of defiance and apology. Although she was dressed tastefully, her attire seemed a little inappropriate for a post-wedding event.
"I needed to speak with you," she murmured, coming up to him in a practiced nonchalance. Andrei's reaction was prompt and incisive.
"You shouldn't be here," He hissed, in a low voice that was dangerously intense.
"Not today. Not now." Josie appeared surprised by his response.
"I wanted to apologize," she started, "for the way I talked to Suzanne the other day at the mall. It was—"
"Inappropriate," Andrei interrupted.
