I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that settled in the pit of my stomach. Who was behind the threatening calls? And what did they want from me? I knew I had to protect Liam at all costs, but I couldn't do it alone.

I decided to reach out to James again, hoping he could help me come up with a plan to keep Liam safe. I sent him a text, asking him to meet me at the same coffee shop where we had met earlier.

As I waited for James to arrive, I couldn't help but think about the voice on the phone. It was menacing and cold, and it sent chills down my spine. I knew I had to be careful, but I also knew I couldn't let fear take over.

James arrived, and we sat down at a quiet table in the back. "What's going on?" he asked, noticing the look of worry on my face.

"It's the calls," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "They're getting worse. And I don't know who's behind them."
