Just as it was built like a real palace, lines of gigantic doors made the wall of its carpet-covered corridor, almost looking unreal.

It should've been a joyful night, especially for Claire, since her husband's birthday would be celebrated here in the Aldrics' main house, which pretty much signified the man's importance as a son-in-law of the powerful Alpha family.

But she could care less about everything with those dull eyes on her face now that she blankly gazed at the dark sky outside while hugging her little brother's shirt close to her chest.

She had just been discharged from the hospital after suffering so much at the news of the jet explosion.

Lucas and Gracia told her that Clyde didn't board that flight, but why didn't her brother come back home?
