"Introduce yourself, Fenil." I said.
Fenil looked disgusted, yet she complied with my order.
"I am Fenil, a fenrir and master's beloved." she said, bowing at them like a prestigious noblewoman.
But, beloved? What does she mean about that?" I wondered.
Arthur stepped forward and introduced his comrades.
"I am Arthur Evansworth, and these people are Rin Huntersky, Lucas Vanter, Tate, and Rosalie Roltur." he said, pointing at his comrades one by one as he introduced them.
"I see. Please do not slow down my master, or I would be the one to kill you." Fenil said in a serious manner as she stared at them unwaveringly.
Did she just threaten them? But I guess she has a point too; I don't need people who would slow me down in my progress toward achieving my goal. Fenil is nowhere to be compared to the likes of them since she is a fenrir. But I hope these guys won't cause trouble for me." I mumbled in my head.
"Do not worry, Miss Fenil; I assure you that we will not slow you down, especially when we have been spared and accepted by Sir Heinz." said Arthur.
Fenil flinched in anger and said, "What do you mean by Sir Heinz? He is now your master, so call him Master Heinz!"
Fenil is really the definition of a loyal follower.
Arthur and the others gulped and nodded.
"My bad; I apologize for my rudeness, Master Heinz." Arthur said, lowering his head before me.
"Fenil will take care of you guys; I still have some business to settle." I said, leaving the authority over them to Fenil.
"The fenrir that we tried to kill yesterday is going to be the one that will supervise us?" Rin mumbled in a whispering tone.
"We have no choice, Rin." said Lucas.
I could hear them clearly, so I stopped and reminded Fenil.
"Fenil, don't do any unnecessary acts, alright? I trust that you treat them properly." I said.
Fenil nodded and began organizing her thoughts on how to handle them.
"Follow me." she said.
Arthur gulped. "Where are we going?" he asked.
"You haven't eaten anything yet since last night, right? Follow me so that you can eat." Fenil said with her back facing the others.
"I see, thank you, Miss Fenil." Rosalie said, who could not handle the frustration of her belly rumbling all the time.
Fenil stopped and did not turn around.
"Let me remind you, I am the master's beloved. So if any of you tries to seduce him or do anything that would hurt Master's feelings, I will not hesitate to kill you and eat your corpse." she said without looking back.
The four gulped and flinched, reminded of the sight Fenil had shown them last night, and replied altogether.
"Yes!"
And with that, they all left, heading to where food was being distributed.
Meanwhile, I went to Chief Eric's location and saw him managing the people that were rebuilding the houses.
Chief Eric noticed me and waved at me.
"Good morning, Sir Heinz." he said, and he greeted me with a smile.
I smiled slightly, waving back at him.
"What brings you here? Are you here for the information you've wanted to ask?" Chief Eric said.
"Yes, but it seems you are busy, so I'll come back later." I said.
"No, no, no. Wait a minute." he said and surveyed the surroundings, looking for someone.
"Gale!" He yelled, calling over a certain individual.
A man with black hair, a muscular body, and a scar on his face came running towards Chief Eric.
"Act as my replacement for the meantime; I have something to discuss with Sir Heinz." Chief Eric said, tapping Gale's shoulders.
"Yes, Chief!" Gale said, lowering his head a bit.
"Now let us go somewhere quiet, Sir Heinz." Chief Eric uttered, holding me by my shoulders.
And so, we walked to a certain house, which was still intact and undamaged by last night's occurrence.
We went inside, and I saw a circular wooden table with four chairs beside it. Chief Eric then sat on one of the chairs.
"Please have a seat, Sir Heinz." he said.
I took a seat and faced Chief Eric directly from the opposite side of the table.
"So, what questions do you have in mind? I will answer them honestly." said Chief Eric.
"Please tell me about the Slavirs. Why are they being framed as villains that could harm the continent just because of a certain foretold legend." I asked.
Chief Eric lowered his gaze and stared at the table for several seconds.
I kept wondering if this legend was false since there are monarchs capable of killing them in an instant, and yet they did not do anything and just left the slavirs.
"What you said about us posing a threat to this continent is true." he said while I listened silently.
"By the time I received the blessing of the Slavir, my mana energy grew threefold compared to a normal person. And I have received the ability of truth discernment. I am able to discern if one is telling the truth or lying, able to know their intentions, and I can somehow use precognition ability, which gives me an advantage in terms of combat." he said and paused, waiting for my response.
"I see; truly a rare ability." I said, signaling him to continue.
"But the legend that has been foretold is only described from the non-slavirs perspective. Slavirs are normal people too and were granted the knowledge of ancient magic, a magic that has long been forgotten, which caused the people to see us as a threat. And one of the knowledge we've been granted was learning about a certain God that would come to the living realm." he said in a serious manner as he looked directly into my eyes.
"But that God is the personification of catastrophe." he mumbled, looking at me.
A certain God? Is what he's saying true, Grand?" I asked through thought communication.
[I do not know, but there is no God in this world.]
[The only lifeforms that are comparable to a god's position are the Obsidian Dragons.]
So does that mean that a dragon's going to the living realm? Is it possible?"
[I do not know, but I have concluded based on what happened to you back then. A dragon cannot pass through the gates of the living realm.]
You mean that barrier that acted as a border, right?"
[Yes, but it is still my hypothesis since I do not know anything about the dragon's capabilities.]
I see, so a dragon might come down here, and that's when the monarchs would move."
"Umm, Sir Heinz?" Chief Eric muttered, waving at me.
"Oh, sorry! I got distracted for a bit." I said.
"No worries; should I continue?" he asked.
"Yes." I replied.
"And so, with that certain God's arrival, once the slavirs pledge their utmost loyalty towards him, they will be granted an evolution which will give the slavirs immense mana energy and strength. That is what's been told to us by the Slavir's ancient magic. So us posing a threat to their perspective is much rather true, since we all are still people from mankind who can be blinded by emotions. Whether we point our hatred to them, once we obtain the evolution that's been said, we'll likely be the cause of this kingdom's, no, continent's demise." Chief Eric said, pointing out the possible facts that made them look like the bad guys. Since they are also people who possess emotions.
People who are treated badly and somehow obtain immense power, making them capable of taking revenge on those who mistreated them, would surely be portrayed as a future threat if not handled immediately.
"I see, but still. This God you're talking about hasn't come yet, right?" I asked.
"No, he has come. Slavirs have the ability to know if the God has arrived, but we do not know yet who he is. But all of the slavirs have the same connection, leaving our intuition true when this certain God arrives." he said, explaining it properly as if they have an alarm that would somehow activate once the God they have mentioned entered the living realm.
"I see." I replied.
"And with the captured slavirs, once they tell the people that the God has arrived, I'm sure that the four kingdoms would do everything to ensure their people's safety, even if they were to cause a massacre of all the slavirs existing in the kingdoms."
"I get what you mean, meaning that the four kingdoms would start to act anytime by now, right?" I asked, concluding that the kingdoms have started hunting all of the slavirs existing in this current age.
"Your presumptions are correct, so with your protection, I felt relieved somehow. You have strong mana energy, capable of deploying a barrier alone. And you were also able to fight against that murderer and defeat him with your strength. With you here, I'm sure the people of the village feel safe." Chief Eric uttered, displaying trust that I'd protect them.
But it wasn't my intention to protect them if it came to this. Well, I have already made an agreement with the chief; I can't just turn my back on them in this dire situation.
I'm sure it'll take time for them to reach this place, and knowing that the fenrir still exists in their thoughts after Arthur and the others do not return I'm sure they will not act hastily in invading this forest. There are still a lot of things to fix. I need to make this place and its people capable of fighting.
I feel like a lot of frustrating things will happen. I'd be reforming this crappy village into something that is capable of handling any attempted siege.
I looked into Chief Eric's eyes and smiled slightly.
"Do not worry; I'll protect you guys." I said.
Chief Eric smiled, knowing that my intentions were true.
"But first, let's rebuild this village and turn it into a place where no one can invade us easily." I said to the Chief in a serious manner.
Leaving him to gulp in suspicion as to what I'm planning.

End of Volume 1
A week has passed, and an uproar has stirred from a certain room inside the royal palace.
"What do you mean that we can't kill them? It's your job to handle them, so quickly finish it!" A young man with blonde radiant hair, ocean-like blue eyes, a sharp nose, and a perfect jaw, wearing very expensive clothing with jewelry intact as ornaments, was complaining loudly.
"Please lower your voice, my prince." A man who was in his late forties and wearing neatly proportioned clothing tried persuading the handsome man into lowering his voice.
The young, handsome man let out a long sigh and sat back on the cushion behind him.
"Those bastards, why do they keep finding our hideouts? I've been buying several lands just for the sake of the slavirs. But how do they keep finding them?" The young man uttered angrily, clenching his fist tightly.
"I am deeply sorry, Prince Calix. But it seems there are several spies between our people. Moving the slavirs from different locations just to hide them seems unfortunate at this point." the man in his late forties said.
"Spies, huh? I guess you might be right, Butler Wenz." Prince Calix said, looking a bit problematic.
"I suggest we conduct an investigation within our people and remove the pests that infiltrated. For now, we only have one place safe from the hands of the people of the kingdom." Butler Wenz stated, proposing a plan to remove the spy from their faction.
"Yes, let's do that. And don't tell me, we're going to send them to that place?" Prince Calix asked, gasping in realization.
"Yes, my prince. It is the only place where they cannot go easily." said Butler Wenz.
"I guess we have no choice. Find a date to send the slavirs there. I hope that they can survive in the meantime until we find a decent place for them to live." Prince Calix said, ending their discussion.
"By your command." Butler Wenz replied, lowering his head before the sitting prince.
After that, the Butler went out of the room that was surrounded by bookshelves, a magnificent long mahogany antique table with fruits displayed on it, and a large window that had been closed due to their meeting.
Is my sister really the one causing these massacres? My brothers—I don't know where they are right now, but I should talk to them about how to handle Jeanel. The public's opinion has turned to her side; the crowning of the next king has been postponed due to some law-changing events. They protested that a princess should also be eligible to take the throne. Was taking the throne her plan from the beginning? I can't seem to read her thoughts well. Ugh, this sister really is a bothersome opponent. She's also a strange one. Anyway, what is she planning right now?" Prince Calix mumbled in his head, pondering a solution to their current situation.
In the first place, the royal family had always obtained the golden ocean features. golden, radiant hair that shone brightly when struck by sunlight. And blue, ocean-like eyes that sparkled like a gem when stared at intently.
These were the features that every member of the royal family had since the first generation.
But for some reason, the youngest sibling, Jeanel, had totally not been aligned with the royal features.
She had silver hair that shone radiantly, and her golden eyes were sparkling like a gem as she smiled with her kind personality.
From the very moment she was born, people were doubting her.
"Is she really the daughter of the king?"
Doubts and rumors spread like wildfire, but the very moment she grew, she showed extreme progress and was entitled to be called a genius.
Therefore, the rumors about her being an illegitimate child began to disappear.
With her outstanding intellect, she was dubbed a genius and learned things that even an adult couldn't handle. She even brought up ideas that someone at the age of 10 couldn't even imagine.
It's as if she were an adult inside a childlike body.
But how would I know? Whatever it is, she's now known to be a prospective candidate for the throne in the eyes of the public opinion." Prince Calix mumbled in his head, looking a bit stressed as he kept thinking about his younger sister, Jeanel.
"Ugh, what a pain. But for now, I should focus on relocating the Slavirs. In order for them not to get hunted, I've got no choice but to send them inside the forest of Gord." he uttered as his hand trembled.
The Prince, Calix Von Alex, decided on transporting the Slavirs, whom he kept protecting, to an unknown, vast, and dangerous forest. But little did he know that the place he had decided to relocate the Slavirs home would benefit him the most. But this is still in the distant future.
Meanwhile, in the Slavir's village, several large wooden pillars forming a barricade were displayed, circling around the village, and were deeply stuck beneath the ground.
The pillars acted as foundations while the Slavirs began to cast earth magic and made the ground stick together between the wooden pillars, blending with a bit of water magic to make it stick as the mud molded and began strengthening itself, similar to cement.
And thus, after three days of doing it, the walls that will protect the village have been successfully created.
Leaving the villagers astonished by the wonderful idea that their abilities had come into use.
"How did you think of such a way?" Eric asked, looking at me in admiration.
I glanced at him and replied. "Well, I just thought about it on a whim. So don't ask; now that we've built the walls, we should focus on the exterior design of it; we are still adding the main entrance and exit."
"My bad, Sir Heinz, well then, I will order my men to bring more wood for the exterior part of the walls. I assume we'll be adding posts at the top, right?" Eric asked, trying to know if his guess was right.
"Yes, we'll make it seem like a fortress wall where people can patrol around and look over from above." I said, telling him my plan.
"Well, in that case, I should get going." Eric said, waving his hand and beginning to walk further away from me.
Wow, this rebuilding project is stressful. I didn't imagine that my leadership skills back in my previous world would be used to ordering people like this. But still, having knowledge about my previous world came in handy. Without being able to gather the supplies for a tough wall, luckily I knew some things back then that only revolved around dirt and water. But adding the wooden pillars as a foundation was a great idea too. The replacement of the steel bars was a good choice since we don't have any steel materials here.
With that, this village somehow feels safer. With the walls and the barrier I made using Grand's help, infiltration would now be hard. Once they pass through the barrier, they'll have to siege our twenty-meter walls in order to get inside the village.
And for the entrance and exit, I'll have to put the entrance on the northern side and the exit on the south. The exit will only be used to evacuate once disaster strikes the village. Forcing them to run towards an uncharted place where monsters reside. But worry not; I still have a plan in mind. I'll make an evacuation center some time deep in the southern parts, where monsters don't roam often.
But first things first, I should see how they are doing." I mumbled in my head, heading in a certain direction.
[Report: They seemed to have improved just from a week's training.]
I see, so you're still watching them?"
[Yes, through the newly acquired all-seeing eye-generated skill, I can use it to observe a wide range of areas reaching up to thirty meters in radius.]
[This is also helpful to my detection skill.]
I see, well, just report to me if you find any suspicious people lurking around."
[By your command, Master.]
Grand, who had been quiet for the last two days after I began preparing for the rebuilding of the village project, somehow ended up generating another skill on her own. It was the all-seeing eye, a combined skill with her detection and an enlarged area radius.
I walked in the streets of the village, where people greeted me. Their admiration for me grew, I guess, since I have been helping their village.
And just as I reached the corner where I was supposed to turn around, a shout was heard.
"Stop! We give up!"
The voice seemed to be that of Arthur, who was always composed. Even when facing me, he did not shout like that.
Just as I turned around, I saw Arthur and the others lying on the ground, lifeless and pale, while Fenil was standing, stepping on Arthur's head like some sort of rock.
Arthur glanced at me with teary eyes, screaming "Help!" internally.
I guess Fenil's still thorough with her training." I mumbled in my head, looking at their situation.
