Chapitre 57: CHAPTER 57

　　“Why are you up?” He cuts through my question with one of his own, a short, no-nonsense sass, and seems to avoid turning toward me now we're in the light. He moves when I get close and tilts his face away as he dives into a cupboard for a mug. He puts space between us, and it acts like being doused in cold water. A reminder that Dane will probably run away should I try and talk about my confession. My heart sinks at his complete emotional immaturity, and I pout at his back and pick at my sleeve.

　　“I couldn’t sleep…. where were you? It’s been two days. Have you any idea how worried we all were.”

　　“Out.” He answers sharply and then edges past me, averting his body so all I get is his back. It’s not lost on me because it’s blatant. He is making sure we get no face-to-face or eye contact, and it smarts more than I should let it.
