Chapitre 3: Poisoned

They both sat on one of the chairs round the large table, that was full of mouthwatering foods,wines and juices.

Liza start the conversation after they took their seats, "I'm sure you know why I invited you to dinner"

Jessica lay down her napkin on her thigh replying, "I have no idea Liza," she raised her head looking straight at Elizabeth.

Liza opened a champagne bottle, and filled two glass cups, she stood up with both and walked over to where Jessica was.

Liza handed one to her invitee and used her empty hand to rest on the table while leaning, "I was thinking of how to appreciated your help in our movie together, but couldn't find an exact time for that, so I decided to invited you to my home," she waves her resting palm towards the table, "I worked hard to prepared all this, it all thanks to your kindness for helping me,"

"I must say I'm touched, " jessie puts her hand on her chest as she spoke, she observed the foods set on the table,in different dishes. "Don't worry, we are both actresses, we all know supporting one another in making of movies was to avoid mistakes, besides it was a win-win, the movie had gone viral" she responded.

Liza agreed, she nodded and turned around to go to her seat, saying,

"Whatever, I'm intrigued by you, if not because of you covering for my mistakes, the will have been a waste"

"Stop flattering me too much,I made mistakes too,we all make mistakes," Jessie let her know.

Liza sat,crossed legged smiling sweetly at Jessie,she raised up her glass, and commented, "cheers to the best actress, and to the famous movie ever"

Jessica raised hers too, smiling, she muttered"cheers," and together they sip it.

As if remembering something, Liza asked,

"You are alone, it's quite unlike you, not going around with your manager. Where's she?"

Jessie laughed, she took another sip from her drink and said, "she had an exam tomorrow, can't believe I had to convince her I'm fine alone, before she went back home with Samuel,"

"She must have loves you so much, let's dig in, shall we?,"

"Of course, I couldn't wait anymore to taste your hardworking dishes " Jessie teased making Liza laughing out loud, and Jessie smiled, by now she had let her guard down after realizing Liza's intentions were good at her.

While out of habit she took out the small object from her purse and placed it on the table beside her drink, and Liza who was watching saw it, couldn't help but asked, "what was that?"

Jessie look confused at first,then she realized what Liza's talking about, she almost slapped her face, looks what the Guardian angel made her do, creating a habit in her, now she was about to gets caught, please God help, she silently prayed. While quickly replied to Liza,"ouh this, it's a lipstick, was a gift from Bella on my birthday, I was planning to retouch my lips after eating. Wanna use it?" She offered, hoping Liza will rejected the idea.

But then,Liza surprised her by saying,

"Yes, I will like to use it, it seems like a new product, your Manager surely have eyes for good things," Jessie started panicking inwardly,and sweats started to form on her forehead but, she forced a smile, "sure," she picked the object and was ready to pushed it towards Liza who was seating across her.

As if God showing mercy on her past sins,Liza quickly wave her hand,with a sudden changed of mind,

"Forget it, maybe later"

Jessie couldn't help but feel grateful and thanks God for it, she sighed of relief, the small speck of sweat that formed on her forehead magically dried off as if rejoicing with her by escaping from being caught.

Jessie smiled at Liza, she didn't argue and opened her covered food in front of her, she picked the cutleries wrapped in a tissue and unwrapped it, she hold each on both hand and cut a small portion of the steak on her plate then put it in her mouth.

The taste was so good, that she nodes her head, "ummm...," she closed her eyes relishing the taste,and opened it wide on her inviter, she complimented, this is heaven Liza!," Only if she know after this she will visit the heaven soon.

Liza chuckles,and sipped her champagne, she placed down the wineglass back to the table, and responded, "Pete is not only a great head servant but also a good cook, he helped me preparing them all," she praised the butler.

Chewing, Jessie commented, "I can see that already babe, I love this"

"I made it personally for you, enjoy, there's more I can serve you" Liza said smirking at Jessie who was not looking at her,but enjoying her steak. Who knows food was the only way to eliminate the young actress,she must thank Pete later for giving out the idea.

She already knew Jessie loves food so much, but it seems so easy to her that,today her long dreaming was about to be fulfilled. Just by the thought, she's thrilled and couldn't wait any longer.

When Jessie glanced at her she smiled sweetly at Jessie.

They eat in silent, while the inviter, was hatching evilness in her mind, if Jessie wasn't carried away by the food taste,she could have noticed something's off the way Liza was looking at her time to time.

Taking her sweet time chewing elegantly, she was about to swallow when, Jessie feel a sudden sting in her stomach that make her shifted on her seat, and Liza who was waiting for a reaction this didn't went unnoticed by her, she quickly asked as if worried, "what's wrong? "

Jessie forced a smile, she shook her head,and replied with,"nothing"

Liza nod,when Jessie continued to eat she frowned, is it not working? She had made sure to put more than was required, her patience is running out Jessie presence was enough, maybe she should go for the second plan, at the moment she noticed Jessie's abrupt stop of eating.

Jessie stopped eating the moment she noticed a drop of blood on her plate, she frowned when a drop followed then it started trickling down more, she raised her hand to her nose and used her finger to touch the liquid substances that was seeping out.

She felt the thick blood on her finger, and move it to her face to see.

Her eyes widened in shocked, "B-Blood!,"is she nosebleeding? What caused it?, her hand went for the tissue paper in front of her, before she could a hand reached out taking it away. when she looked up,her eyes met Liza's brown eyes that held a glint of evil and wickedness in them who was now smirking at her.

"What are you doing Liza," she asked baffled,not wanting to believe her eyes.

She feel a sting in her throat, and covered her mouth she coughed blood in her palm,at that moment she became aware of the fact that, she's poisoned..
