The time was passing, and the world was changing. Though history had shifted, the key moments were starting to come together to form the original story of humanity. The Observers remained reserved and reclusive, creating a telepathic field to prevent most people from entering the forest and finding them. Inmo was taking it all in stride, but upon realizing what was happening on Earth, he decided to leave the immortal city and become a time traveler. He sought to meet interesting people and participate in historical events while creating numerous conspiracy stories to make the future more intriguing.
Having made his decision, Inmo informed the council of his plans for this adventure. The council, a group of citizens responsible for much of the city's functioning, was usually focused on the important matters, leaving the mundane tasks to Inmo. When they heard about his intentions, they were surprised. Their emperor had not ventured outside the immortal city in a long time, especially after spending some time away from Earth. However, they all remembered that the rest of humanity had evolved considerably in the current society, forming their own empires and entering the age of navigation, seeking new lands. Perhaps Inmo wanted to relive the old times, but who knows? It was hard to understand what he was thinking.
Inmo also received a surprise during this meeting. The council told him they had a present for him. They went to the robotics laboratories, where the Observers had made significant advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence over the years. They were now using robots for difficult tasks like mining, construction, research, data analysis, and simulation. When they arrived, the employees scurried around, preparing everything. A compartment in the floor began to rise, and inside was a robot with a human-like form but an all-metallic body, resembling one of the robots from the Terminator movies. "Well, I didn't expect this when I showed you that drawing," Inmo was astonished at how they perfectly recreated this robot based on just a drawing. Over time, Inmo had brought various forms of entertainment like movies, comics, and manga, presented in animated form, which had become popular among all the residents of the immortal city.
Returning to the robot in the middle of the room, the researchers explained that it was designed to accompany the Emperor on his adventures. It incorporated all the technology of their civilization, including their new discovery, nanotechnology, which allowed the robot to change its appearance, perfect for camouflage and infiltration. Its firepower was capable of decimating an entire city, and it was connected to their main server, providing constant access to any information the Emperor desired. The robot was programmed to serve him to the best of its abilities during his adventures. The researchers eagerly looked at Inmo to gauge his reaction after the demonstration of the robot's capabilities.
They had built this robot as an extension of their civilization, a part that could forever remain by the side of their god. The fact that they couldn't accompany Inmo on his last journey outside of Earth had a profound impact on them. Hence, they put their efforts into creating something capable of following their Emperor on his adventures.
When asked what he thought, Inmo replied with a joyful voice, "Absolutely incredible." He approached the robot, examining it from different angles like a child on Christmas morning, and then asked for its name. The head researcher stepped forward and said, "We haven't given it a name, we left that for the Emperor to decide." Inmo pondered for a moment and finally said, "Franky, your name will be Franky from now on." The robot responded with a metallic voice, which gradually sounded more human as its appearance changed, taking the form of an average man in his thirties. "At your service, Emperor," Franky said, finishing with a courteous gesture. The researchers were all thrilled; Inmo was genuinely pleased.
A few days later, Inmo and Franky were together, dressed in clothes appropriate for that era, blending in with the other people. In front of them lay a boat that would take them on their adventure.
