Chapitre 13: Spell, Flame Zon e

Chapter 14

.

Please note, the term black guy isn't a racist comment. Just a way of uniting my characters as one.

.

.

Eric wasn't armed, his blade had been mercilessly melted to its original form, leaving him nothing to battle with.

"Hey kid, since you don't cherish your life, then go to hell" the  guy blustered, seemingly augmented by the wind, he dashed with astonishing speed, weaving the dull luster saber in his hand at him.

But unfortunately, Eric was having none of it. Focusing his gaze, everything appeared to slow down , the black guy's speed seemed a bit like that of a normal human would.

Eric then smiled coldly…

" Is that all you've got?" he smirked, without waiting for a reply, he dashed in a similar manner, making the most crude but creative killing finger gesture, a clutch, and striking  towards the  guy's throat.

While the  guy was reveling in the feeling of death, his eyes bulging wide, Eric appeared before another in a flash. The guy stared in horror, wanting to retreat, but Eric didn't give him a chance to, and grabbed at the guy's throat.

The next scene was an extremely gruesome sight to behold.

Grabbing the man's throat with a single push , he ripped it out. He didn't slice it with his hands, he plugged it out like the way you would unplug a fruit from the tree.

Eric drew it out, separating the throat from the body with ripped mangled flesh and intestines from the stomach.

Eric wasn't fazed, for unknown reasons he had no qualms about killing his enemies in the most bloody way ever despite this being his first time.

For the first time also, he had let go of the frustrating emotions held inside him through the years, coming out from the very depth of his heart, even though he couldn't understand why.

Years of suffocation, loneliness and anger, many more incomprehensible emotions, but the most wonderful feeling that reigned over them was the relief of ripping the lives of people that wanted to take his… but this feelings didn't reign for long, his eyes quickly regained clarity out of his bloodlust state, his emotional trance broken by the stammering voice beside him.

"You... you... you... What did you do to black face?" the earlier guy who was laughing with black face asked, with fear and terror in his voice while pointing at Eric.

Eric turned his head and coldly stared at the cohort, petrifying them as everywhere turned silent an instant later. Except for the gurgling sound of blood spurting.

Then glancing at his hands, he casted a brief observing look at the bloody hose with curling flesh, dripping with blood, in his hand.

Thud! The atmosphere was finally broken…

Everyone woke up from their daze, the captain especially also looked in surprise before his face darkened and clenched with intent to kill.

"You dare kill a member of my squad?"

"Hahahahahahaha" laughing with a contorted face full of anger.

"Since you dare, you'll die today!"

" Attack!"

Although the already dead black guy was using wind abilities, the reason they were called the Dino squad was because they specialized in using Flame abilities.

Gazing at his attackers, Eric clenched his fist, activating his physical strength, as hardened scales formed from his flesh replaced his skin.

'Dragon scales… or fish scales?' noticing the transformed texture of his skin, Eric thought, feeling that his physical prowess had doubled, even more so to his defense. His guts told him so.

Surprised, shocked? Eric didn't know what to feel at this, he had more of them during the past few days than he had since he was born.

Too bad, he was in the middle of a confrontation…

Looking at the attack salvo coming at him, with mostly orange and yellow glow, Eric couldn't help letting out a sneer. These guys were clearly playing with fire before him. Whilst not knowing that with his awakened Fire ability was top-notch enough to grant him immunity to theirs.

Still his gaze, Eric stood there as their skills bombarded him. Trusting his guts.

Meanwhile, the Dino squads, especially the Captain all let out smirks.. This was their all-out attack and one of their tricks to sneak attack both monsters and humans alike in the Wild, especially when they robbed hunts from other Mystics, making them very notorious.

There was a rumor they had even killed a Low Silver Rank Mystic, who wasn't prepared due to his arrogance.

But sadly, it was Eric they encountered this time, and hell was bound to be their destination.

Their attacks collided with Eric as he was set up in flames.

But instead of hearing a horrible scream or seeing a dismembered corpse…

Eric wasn't fazed a little bit by the attacks, standing straight, he activated his Everlasting Flames ability for the first time.

Looking like a Ghost Rider, his body was covered in flames…

"Ah!" Someone yelled in surprise and pointed at the flaming Eric, who looked like Heatblast, with flaming hair like that of Ghost Rider who had come to reality and come to take them to hell.

Before they could react, Eric dashed forward like a death god. Grapping the arm that was just raised against him, he ripped it off its socket, a blood-curdling scream spreading through the forest.

As if fueled by the blood, the flame quickly spread through the guy's body, turning blue, and within a breath, he was already wasted, his corpse dropped to the ground, the blue flame seemed to absorb every drop of blood and vitality within his body.

Shocked, the others quickly stepped back, staring at Eric with horror.

'Which kind of monster did we provoke' the Captain thought, taking two steps back , as he stared at his doom.

"Please Sir"

"Forgive us" said the one who brought up the conversation about the girl, Catcher, with slight hope in his heart as he begged the youth, Eric.

But Eric was having none of it, he was in a stuporous state.

Just now, if he had been weaker, he would have died, and they would be laughing at his corpse right now.

He didn't bother listening to their words, his cold detached eyes seemingly locking  contact with their soul.

"Run!"

The guy said not waiting for their Captain to give command.

But where to?...

He turned back, but Eric was already there, his arm striked towards his head.

Spurt!

The guy's head combusted with flames, and the air was quickly dyed red, like a red spray was sprayed.

"You'll all die here"

Hearing the gloomy voice, that sounded like  Grim Reaper's death sentence, they almost peed their pants.

...

Meanwhile, earlier when he faced the evo of attacks, a spell had popped up in the air just as he transformed into a fire man, a result of  activating his ability.

Spell: FLAME ZONE

Chapitre 14: Overpowered Skill

"Flame Zone!" Eric shouted.

Then it was as if time stopped... or so it seemed…

Yellow flames quickly spread out, surrounding the area.

Even the trees filled with vitality just a moment ago, couldn't escape the fate of turning to ashes in a few seconds.

And as for the trees that were farther away , there was no sign of vitality in them anymore, withering with astonishing speed. And soon there were no more green lush leaves on their branches to tell of its former glory, looking more like a 100-year-old barren tree.

Even more tragic happened to the group that attacked him; there weren't physically enhanced flame type Mystic in the first place, only having the ability to cast out flame skills and augment some part of their body. So before Eric, they were more like child's play. There wasn't the slightest pause as the blue flame burned them till their horrified screams went out.

But then, just as he was about reveling in the ethereal feeling of power and mass destruction at the sight of his ability being unleashed. He sensed his depleting Mana at a rapid pace, almost emptied out.

"Hell!" cursing out loud, he deactivated his flame ability that was fueling the spell.

" I've got to leave."

Who knew if there were Monsters or human Mystics nearby, that would take advantage of this moment and kill him?

Run!

Not turning back, Eric zoomed towards the outer part of the forest with every speed his legs could muster, proving to be quite astonishing and above his rank. Clearly, he was maximizing and putting all of his remaining mana and strength to boost the muscles in his legs. A thought that had sprawled in his head.

...

Meanwhile, back in the forest.

As there were no Silver Rank Mystics nearby, it took the lower Ranked Mystics in the area some time to get to the scene of the gruesome massacre, with nothing but crisp and ashes of the dead trees.

As for wild monsters? They, for unknown reasons, avoided the area like plague, and soon that part of the forest was soon devoid of Wild Monsters. Probably because Monsters mainly relied on their instinct, so even though Eric wasn't there anymore they still felt a great sense of danger nearing the dead trees, and those devoid of life beside it.

...

After running for more than 30 minutes, exhausted and tired, Eric saw the city walls finally come into view.

Fatigued and tired, if not for his Vitality stat timely refreshing his stamina and minimal bit of Mana, even if the heavens were to help, Eric knew he wouldn't have made it out alive with his mana less than 5% of its total capacity.

Walking for an extra 5 more minutes, Eric found a nearby tree, and after confirming that there were no Monsters in the surroundings, thanks to his enhanced vision, he then decided to take a quick rest on the tree's bark while gasping for breath.

"I really overdid myself back there", muttering under his breath, Eric willed and a bottled water dropped on his hand midair, gulping the whole bottle straight in one breath, 3 more bottles appeared in similar fashion before Eric finally released a satisfied blench, thinking ''Waters these days are painkiller', the taste was heavenly.

Without having the time to indulge in his thoughts, Eric stood up shakily with 10% percent of his total stamina recovered.

"The sun is almost setting and it isn't in my best interest to sleep outside the city gates"

So...

Eric began his second lap of running, although not fast , his lonely back matched the sunset as he ran towards the city.

He was already in the safe zone, but everywhere was strangely quiet , except for the occasional growl and roar from Wild Monsters outside the safe zone.

...

Meanwhile back in the forest, an undercurrent had begun due to Eric's earlier commotions.

...

Eric got back home and without even bothering to take his already bloody and sweaty clothes off , he entered wonderland (sleep).

...

Unknown place.

A young cloaked man knelt before the door with a subordinating bow.

" Sir, we found no trace of the person or Monster" the young cloaked man voiced out in the darkly lit corridor before the door.

Then, after kneeling for 30 minutes with no reply, he bowed again, before taking his leave without letting out another word.

Also, in the room behind the door, everything was pitched black without a spark of light, and there stood a figure draped in black cloak that made it hard to differentiate from the surrounding darkness.

Breaking the eerie silence, the figure sighed

"I hadn't expected it to be easy in the first place, since the mission was given by that person… But whoever or whatever you are, you won't escape my clutches", leaving behind this dreadful sentence, the man disappeared.

...

"I am probably the most unlucky person out there" with almost teary eyes, Eric lamented .

The first time he left the city gates he almost lost his life, as if that was not enough, he almost lost his life again. The second time due to his own arrogance.

But even though, no matter what the reason is, if anyone who knew he chanced upon the burning plant with red fruit and heard the rubbish he was currently spewing "I am probably the most unlucky person out here", they would first gather together to hunt him, capture him and torture out what he had eaten and then kill him. Some may even commit suicide, saying life was a scam.

"Like seriously? You had a heaven-defying fortuitous encounter, and you still have the guts to compare us together, saying you are the most unlucky?!"

"I would rather die than suffer this injustice".

" I risked my life every day to feed my family, and you gave this ungrateful scum such good luck?"

This would have been the headline throughout the federation.

...

Indeed, Eric never knew how terrifying his luck was. The first ever fortuitous encounter he had was a Low Tier Spirit treasure that would drive countless power houses crazy.

Well... story for another day.

Glancing about the room,

"It seems I have to buy my own house, but that's going to be later".

Eric then willed as the bloody bag appeared before him
