In the second week of March, a small crew with minimal cast members started shooting. No media, production companies or distributors paid attention to it due to the small size of crew. There are countless such crews everyday, so of course they won't pay much attention to everyone.
Kevin made the final preparations for the movie, and the filming of "Saw" started.
"Okay, ready to shoot."
Hearing Kevin's words, the crew began to act.
"The camera is no problem... "
"The lightening is on.. "
"The actors are ready."
Following cameraman's last call, the filming offical began.
The intense filming days began. The story of "Saw" is not complicated, mainly revolving around Gordon Lawrence (Gerarld), Adam (Bradley cooper) and Jigsaw played by Tobin bell. Adam and Grodon wake up in a bathroom with tapes in their pockets. Adam's tape urges him to survive, while Gordon's tape orders him to kill Adam, or his wife Alison and daughter Diana will be killed. The real horror began when they find out that the person who trapped them was the serial killer Jigsaw.
While directing the scenes, Kevin tried to remain truthful to the script, but he improved the loopholes and sets which were pointed out when the original movie was released in his previous life.
In the blink of an eye, the shooting continued and more than fifteen days had passed.
"Stop, Gerald you are showing too much panic. Gordon is indeed panicked but he also portrays his calm self as much as he could."
Kevin's voice sounded and the shooting was again stopped. Crew members sighed. It seems today is Gerald Butler's turn to get scolded. Everyone its an actors bad luck.
Jim who was standing on the side, said to Tina beside him with a smile: "Today seems to be the bestfriend's turn."
He has watched Kevin working for the past few days, and his impression of Kevin as a director has improved a lot. Compared to the previous two directors he has worked with, Kevin's shots are precise and fast, but calm and collected at the same time. He doesn't behave rudely or shout on the actors and crew members on the set, and behave calmly even if a crew member makes a mistake. The only time he has seen Kevin show any emotions or a little anger is when the actors make irrational mistakes during the filming. As for other things like coming late or technical problems, he has not seen Kevin show any displeasure on such matters. Of course as producers, he and Tina wouldn't ignore such things. They can't be as easy going as the director.
Kevin was feeling quite pressured. Even if the shooting has been going as planned, but it still cannot calm his restless heart. Maybe movie's success might be the only cure.
Meanwhile, the set was prepared and fillming was about to start again.
.....
"Cut" Kevin stood behind the camera, took a deep breath and announced with excitement and tiredness: "Everyone, the shooting of Saw is officially complete."
"Yes."
"Wow... "
Everyone started shouting and cheering. Working contionously for so many days is a tough job for anyone. The end of filming means that they not only have shot a complete movie successfully, but can also get the remaining payment. According to employment regulations, only half of the salary is paid at the beginning, while the remaining half is settled after the work.
Kevin watched the crew members laughing and shouting happily, a smile also appeared on his face. Suddenly, he was held by two people and pulled toward the centre of celebration. Kevin wanted to scold and resist, but how could Gerald listen to it. He and Jim held Kevin, and pulled him toward the centre:
"Buddy, just enjoy a little. You have worked hard too."
A film director is really a high-stress job. When he returned to his den completely drunk, Kevin didn't even eat dinner, he lay on the bed and fell asleep.
For so many days, his rest has not been good. He thinks about shooting every day, and has no intention of sleeping. Now that he has sustenance in his heart, the situation is naturally different. The two big men fell asleep peacefully.
After a hard sleep, Kevin, after recovering his energy, did not rush into post-production, but dealt with some trivial matters first.
He called Jim to ask for the situation of equipments he asked to rent for post-production. He doesn't want to use a big studio's production office, because it can cause a lot of impact on the movie.
If a big studio liked the movie, which he believes they will, then they will ask to inquire the distribution rights or might even want to directly buy the film. It is a good thing to get big six as distributors, but the price they will give is minimal. He doesn't have much resources to face the consequences of refusing. So, it's better to be prepared first and look for small distributors. Anyway, he already has a distribution company in mind.
