Chapter 16: Queen Carmilla is speechless!
- Emperor Kaiser (Sora Heiwajima) –
Kaiser perused the menu and placed a selection of orders with the waitress. Once the order was complete, he took a moment to observe the famous Queen Carmilla. He couldn't help but acknowledge that the rumours he had heard about her beauty were far from an exaggeration.
Her beauty was striking, with a captivating allure that had evidently ensnared the hearts of countless men. She wasn't the sole focus of his attention, in any case. The two girls accompanying her were undeniably charming as well.
Yet it was Queen Carmilla who held his fascination. He observed her openly, and to his surprise, she met his gaze with an enchanting smile, a silent acknowledgement of his interest.
Kaiser found it intriguing. It appeared that the Queen held her curiosity about him, and that was a thought that pleased him.
Kaiser couldn't deny his sinful nature, and in the presence of this captivating woman, he felt an irresistible urge to hold her close. Among the many women he had encountered in his life, Queen Carmilla was a unique enchantress.
He flashed her a warm smile as he inquired, "How has your day been, Queen Carmilla?" His gaze was fixed on her, and he noticed that she had completed her order. The nervous waitress had hastily departed under the watchful eyes of Bulkmon and Myotismon.
Kaiser decided to start with some pleasantries before delving into the heart of their meeting. Perhaps he could uncover some intriguing details about this enigmatic Queen in the process.
"My day?" Carmilla's voice held a note of intrigue as she maintained eye contact with Kaiser. "It was rather ordinary until I had the pleasure of meeting you, my dear Emperor. I never expected to encounter someone as captivating as you. Although you currently hold a Peak High-Class status, your growth potential appears limitless. It seems you're on the brink of breaking through the barrier to the Ultimate class." Queen Carmilla's enchanting smile did not escape his notice.
Kaiser, sporting a confident smile, responded, "As expected of Queen Carmilla to be able to sense my strength."
Furthermore, he expressed his desire to break through to the Ultimate class. "I only need an opportunity to surpass this High-Class barrier. After all, I've spent three years at this level, which is more than enough. It's time for me to aim for the big league," Kaiser's confident response was met with a delighted chuckle from the vampire queen.
She playfully covered her mouth with her hand, a charming gesture that bewildered her subordinates. Queen Carmilla's eyes sparkled with a mix of admiration and amusement.
"Truly? This is remarkable, my Emperor," Queen Carmilla purred, her voice carrying playfulness and admiration. Her coquettish demeanour was unusual for her subordinates, who witnessed a side of their Queen they had never seen before. It added a surreal layer to the atmosphere in the room.
Even King Tepes, who was considered Queen Carmilla's husband, had never witnessed this side of her majesty.
They feared he would spit blood to his death if he were informed of this incident. After all, he fought and bled for this position, yet he couldn't even hold the hand of his supposed wife.
Carmilla's mood underwent an abrupt shift, shedding her previous flirtatious demeanour to embrace her ruler's aura once more. Kaiser couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the sudden change, though he maintained his smile.
Evidently, the Queen had little interest in continuing the small talk, and he was content with that, as he, too, had pressing matters to discuss regarding their meeting. After all, he had utilized Azazel's connection to arrange this meeting. So he was indebted to Azazel, and if the negotiations ended up not working, he would have to repay Azazel either way.
It would genuinely annoy him.
Carmilla fixed her gaze intently on Kaiser, her eyes piercing. "Digimon Emperor Kaiser, what are your intentions with the arrangement of this meeting, particularly after asking this rather perverted crow?"
Kaiser responded with a straightforwardness that aligned with his honest intentions. "I seek to formalize an alliance with you, the vampire of the Carmilla Faction."
Inwardly, Kaiser decided there was no need for deception in this matter, as his primary goal was to forge an alliance to smooth his goal. He did have some minor personal agenda, but nothing that would jeopardize the Queen or her faction.
Carmilla hummed quietly as she contemplated Kaiser's response. "...I see. Will this alliance pose any threat to my faction?"
Kaiser's reply was swift and reassuring, "Of course not, my Queen. I am, but a newcomer to this world, and I have made few, if any, enemies thus far."
"…I also heard from Azazel that you wish to aid us in our civil wars?"
"That is correct."
"May I ask why?" asked Carmilla with piercing eyes.
"I wish to pick up someone from the Tepes Clan, but unfortunately, this princess is under heavy surveillance."
Carmilla frowned at Kaiser's implication as she thought of someone special inside the Tepes territory.
"Valerie Tepes? What a daring man you are," Carmilla acknowledged with a mixture of admiration and curiosity. "No wonder you sought our assistance. But why should I grant you access to this girl? While I can't provide a guarantee that the Carmilla Faction won't secure victory in this war anytime soon, I am confident enough in my abilities to eventually command the entirety of the vampire world through my 'husband,'" she continued with a self-assured smile. Her confidence was unshakable, and she was determined not to let Valerie Tepes slip through her grasp.
Carmilla was fully aware of the potential that Valerie Tepes possessed. In fact, she had even considered grooming the girl to be her successor as the next Queen when she decided to step down from her role.
"Indeed, Queen Carmilla, your strength is undoubtedly formidable," Kaiser remarked, maintaining his relaxed grin as he prepared to reveal a game-changing revelation. "But that might not be the case, all thanks to the involvement of a third party in this war that supports the Tepes Clan from the dark."
The room fell silent as the weight of Kaiser's words hung in the air, leaving Queen Carmilla and her entourage in stunned contemplation.

- Queen Carmilla -
Queen Carmilla's entire being quivered with a mix of shock and uncertainty at Kaiser's revelation, and her silence spoke volumes. Her girls, too, gasped in astonishment, realizing the implications of this unexpected revelation. They had fought in this civil war for a protracted period, yet the existence of a third party had eluded them until now.
As Queen Carmilla contemplated Kaiser's words, she couldn't bring herself to outright dismiss them as a falsehood. Instead, she found herself retracing her steps through the long and arduous war, recalling peculiar instances and anomalies that had seemed odd at the time but had gone unexamined.
Her recollection recalled moments of her dear "husband's" peculiar behaviour. Before this civil war had erupted, she had been the reigning authority in their territory, while her seemingly worthless spouse had preferred frivolous diversions. At the time, she had paid little heed to his antics and found him utterly inconsequential. However, as the puzzle pieces fell into place, she grew increasingly solemn, realizing that there might have been more to his actions than met the eye.
However, everything changed one fateful day when her "husband" made a shocking move by launching a civil war, driven by his ambition to become the sole ruler of Romania. It was no secret that his daughter, Valerie Tepes, possessed the Sephiroth Grail, a powerful Sacred Gear with limitless potential.
Yet, as she recalled the personality of the Tepes King, he wouldn't have dared to initiate such a war without being exceptionally confident about something. Queen Carmilla couldn't shake the feeling that not all of his confidence derived solely from the Sephiroth Grail.
As the weight of this realization sank in, Queen Carmilla bit her lip, struggling with the sudden shift in the situation. She felt like control was slipping from her grasp, and unable to resist her curiosity any longer, she turned to the composed Digimon Emperor with a question burning in her eyes.
"…A third party, you say? May I ask—"
Just as Queen Carmilla was about to resume the conversation, the interruption came in the form of a knock on the door. She quickly composed herself, realizing that their food had finally arrived. The door swung open, revealing two servers who silently and efficiently wheeled in their respective food carts and promptly arranged the dishes on the table. With a polite bow, they made a hasty exit, clearly picking up on the heavy atmosphere in the room.
Queen Carmilla was eager to delve further into their discussion, but Kaiser's nonchalant remarks interrupted her train of thought.
"Oh my, they weren't exaggerating about this place, were they?" Kaiser remarked, sampling some of the dishes.
Queen Carmilla began to express her thoughts, but Kaiser playfully interjected, "Now, now, how about we eat first, and then we can continue our conversation? It would be a shame if these exquisite dishes turned cold," he suggested with a chuckle.
Queen Carmilla attempted to continue the discussion once more, but Kaiser had a different idea. "How about we invite our members to join us? After all, we did order quite a feast," he proposed.
Queen Carmilla, slightly frustrated, gave in with a pout and sulked in her corner. She could feel the amusement radiating from the man who dared to tease her. As the Vampire Queen, she couldn't let this audacious man's behaviour go unchecked. In her mind, she vowed to teach him a lesson in the future.
