Chapitre 1: Ch-1 Ich liebe dich

No One's POV

Sirin's latest memories were certainly not pleasant. The final battle which would eventually lead to her death, the battle to determine the fate of humanity, was nearing its end.

The First Herrscher, Welt Yang, was critically injured and had his body previously destroyed, only holding on by a mental link to the Second Herrscher, which he used to free Siegfried and Cecilia from Sirin's Dream.

Einstein was also in critical condition, most of AraHato was also destroyed by the enraged herrscher.

The audacity these Vermin! Had to try and steal one of HER gems, it pissed her off beyond belief.

The sweet memories she obtained during her time with Cecilia and Siegfried, her then parents, within the dream world, were irreplaceable. They would forever leave a memory that would never be removed.

Not till her death. Not even after death.

Her life as Celine Schariac, inside that dream as Cecilia's daughter. That was the life she wished she had.

And that girl, her supposed younger sister, Kiana Kaslana, it would be a lie if Sirin said she didn't end up falling for her. She developed a soft spot for that precious girl, the one whom she came to view as her own sister.

Sirin never expected to get so attached to some random kid like that. She really didn't. But that girl... She treated the genocidal child goddess nicer than anyone else ever had!

She vaguely remembers asking her something as a question, back when she felt guilt and anxiety bubbling up in her cold honkai-infested heart.

"Kiana... What would you do if I was a monster ?" She remembered asking.

"What do you mean Celine, you could never be a monster! You're my sister!" That cheerful grin on her face left a hollow place in Sirin's heart, the latter knowing full well that her hands were stained with blood.

But Kiana was so innocent, so pure and so nice. And her bravery, it reminded her of that stupidly nice lady named Theresa, who previously tried to help her.

Originally, Sirin thought Kiana was just as stupid. She believed that both her and Theresa were idiots who failed to realise the horrible things humanity has done and is capable of doing. Unlike them, Sirin suffered through humanity's cruelty first hand. She knows just how cruel and heartless those monsters disguised as human beings can be, especially to the weak and defenceless.

However, as time slowly passed within the dream, she grew attached to her. Kiana being a child that isn't affiliated to her tormentors also played a big role in making her feel comfortable around the young Kaslana.

"But let's say, hypothetically, of you had a dream about me and I was a dangerous, evil monster and a massive murderer. Wh-what would you do...?" Sirin's breath hitched as Kiana took up a thinking posture.

Kiana stared at her for many seconds, her blue eyes reflecting upon Sirin's fiery orbs. She then stretched her hand out and held onto her sister's hands with a firm grip. It was enough to startle the young herrscher.

Not only because she didn't expect Kiana to get physical so suddenly, but also because of the firmness behind it. She didn't believe a normal child this young could produce such a strong grip. And despite the grip strength, Sirin still felt safe and calm.

"Celine... Were you having such nightmares ?" She asked, her voice filled with anxiousness. Her face was one of worry and held soft, delicate, small palm caressed Sirin's cheeks.

It surprised her. She didn't think the young girl would come up with such a conclusion.

"Don't worry! You know it's not real!" She reassured her, but Sirin only bit her lip harder after hearing that.

She did this because she knew Kiana was wrong. It was real! In fact, it's literally happening right now! She was a monster. She IS a monster. And she's murdered MILLIONS. She's irredeemable.

"B-But what if it IS real..! What if–!"

She felt silent when she felt Kiana's delicate arms wrap around her own body, slowly safeguarding her from her own self-torment. Sirin's voice fell silent when she felt the warmth of a huh she hasn't had in such a long time.

She knew this wasn't real. This dream was fake. This Kiana was also fake. And yet, how could those hug feel so cozy and warm. Sirin couldn't understand it.

"It doesn't matter, Celine! You'll always be my sister. I don't care what you've done in the past. All that matters is what you choose to be now. And no matter what you do, or what you become, I'll always love you! You're my sister and I could never hate you!"

She remembered that moment very clearly. It was the clearest and one of her most cherished memories. That day, she hugged Kiana like she would disappear, and cried herself to sleep.

Sirin wondered if the real Kiana Kaslana was also like that.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Just as Sirin was starting to get used to this dream, things went downhill. She, who was feeling very conflicted about her own ideals while staring at the Bella doll she held. Sirin was woken up from this fake dream when she felt the connection she had with Bella breaking!

She knew exactly what had happened.

Those humans killed her precious Bella!!!

Her hatred and rage for humanity only increased even further, but this time, she felt anger towards the two people who claimed to be her parents.

And when she realised that Cecilia, the woman who treated her like her own daughter and claimed to be her mother, it turns out she was aware of this dream the entire time.

She. Lied. To. Her!

Cecilia, Siegfried and Theresa all teamed up to defeat her, which in her own eyes, felt like betrayal. She stared at Cecilia with trembling eyes.

Liars! Liars! Liars!

LIARSSS!!!!!

THEY'RE ALL LIARS! ALL THEY EVER DID WAS LIE!

Within all that anger and hatred, she gritted her teeth in frustration. "You traitors... I want to see my sister again!"

She wanted to see the face of the ONE person aside from her subordinates that truly cared about her. The only human whom she bothered to remember or care about.

"GIVE HER BACK TO ME!!" Sirin screamed with all her might. She would have never thought she'd get so attached to a child, yet here she was.

She trapped Kiana's parents inside the Infinite Corridor, which she placed inside her own body for extra protection while she faced Theresa herself.

Unfortunately for her, things were not looking well.

Theresa managed to use the 0th power of the Oath of Judah— Celestial Domain. This ability was the ultimate power that granted it's user the power to kill Herrscher's. It created a domain of clocks, gears and chains, within which all honkai energy was immediately nullified.

Theresa had to lean on one of her spears to prevent herself from collapsing, after all, she had honkai beast DNA inside her. This domain affected everything in it, including its user.

Sirin was in chains, completely immobilized and unable to draw any power from her herrscher cores. She despaired at the thought of dying to this faker.

Theresa threw a spear at her to kill her, but it missed and hit her leg, causing Sirin to scream in agony. Without her herrscher powers, the fear of pain had returned to the young teen. She no longer felt invincible and knew the end was coming.

The pain was so excruciating, it reminded her of those experiments she and her friends were forced to participate in. The same ones that killed her closest friends. The same ones that tormented her. Her trauma was returning and before she knew it, she was screaming and begging for mercy, not to Theresa, but from the pain she was feeling.

She was completely limp against her chains, her attempts to escape had ceased. She knew there was no way out.

She could only hope Theresa didn't take away the Gem of Serenity from her, otherwise she'll die for sure. She held on to the little hope that things might just go her way for this once.

Theresa raised a large spear, getting ready to finish the young girl off.

"I'm sorry..." She muttered.

Theresa's face was filled with guilt and anguish. The thought of having to kill this child, it pained her so much. Especially since she knew exactly what Sirin had been through and understood her hatred for humanity. She still wanted to try and save Sirin, but at this point, there was no going back.

She prayed that Sirin would at least live a good life when she's reborn again, before impaling her through the heart.

Theresa collapsed onto the ground right after this, the domain and the spears disappearing as she fell. It was over, she thought. The war was over. The Herrscher was dead. Her family was safe.

The expression of horror she saw upon that child, the story of her torment and the horrors of this war would forever haunt her memories, but at least Kiana, Siegfried and Cecilia won't have to die now.

She ended up getting her hopes up for nothing. Sirin just got back up not even a moment after this. She glared down at Theresa and saw the despaired and guilty look on her face.

Sirin's eyes burned into Theresa's. The latter could clearly see the hateful glint she held. Understanding that her time had come, she closed her eyes and pursed her lips, looking like she was about to cry. She failed! She failed to kill Sirin, and now... She would destroy everything Theresa cared about.

Sirin's scowl twitched ever-so slightly. She saw that look on Theresa's face and bit her own tongue instinctively. Enraged by the fact that this woman in front of her literally killed her, even if only temporarily, she held the urge to kill this insect. Theresa was also just waiting for her to attack, knowing that she had no way of escaping. She was defenceless and at Sirin's mercy.

However, much to her surprise, Sirin didn't kill her. When Theresa opened her eyes, which were blurred due to tears, she saw Sirin staring at her with a cold and indifferent look. The void lance next to her began to dissipate. Theresa was shocked at this sudden change. She tried to understand why Sirin would spare her, but she just couldn't.

Sirin on the other hand, held an unfamiliar glint in her eyes.

Neither was able to exchange any words with each other, since a massive burst of flames originated from Sirin's chest. Sirin was quick to understand the change and immediately pushed Siegfried out of her body. To say she was shocked upon seeing his monstrous form would be an understatement.

At that point, he was neither human nor honkai beast. He was nothing but a devil with only one goal— to purge the honkai.

The voice kept echoing in his head.

Her loss was very fast after this. Siegfried repelled any attack that was thrown his way, but Sirin was actually adapting to his fighting style and slowly getting used to her strength. Their battle raged for nearly five minutes, with Sirin losing more and more energy as time passed.

She tried to distract him using honkai beasts, but Siegfried ATE them!

Siegfried was actually injured from Sirin's attacks, despite awakening his Kaslana genes. Sirin quickly found out how outmatched she was, when she lost an arm and was forced onto the ground.

The Infinite Corridor and the Gem of Serenity were both ripped out of her, leaving her body like a dull dack of potatoes, left to rot and die alone.

Her anguish sent another wave of honkai energy all across the country, a wave that would continue to advance until half the Asian Continent was consumed, if not stopped.

It took the combined efforts of both Cecilia and Siegfried, both going all out and risking death, just to prevent this from happening. And even then, they needed temporary assistance from AraHato.

After unleashing the true power of Shamash to save the world, Siegfried was left in a horrible state, with burns all across his body. If Sirin were to see his sorry state now, she would sneer and laugh, due to the resentment she held for him.

Cecilia cried while cradling him for some time, knowing that she had used up all the blood she had and wouldn't be able to return to her daughter alive. She requested him to take care of Kiana in her steed and began to walk away, leaving Siegfried at his lonesome. Cecilia used the last of her Divine Key's power to heal and protect her husband from the incoming honkai fusion missiles.

Sirin was falling from the sky, her strength had completely disappeared and she was totally defenceless. She could feel the honkai fusion missiles approaching, knowing that the end was near.

'Mommy... I'm cold. I can't see a thing... I'm scared. I don't want to die...'

Of course she wouldn't want to die. Despite all the torment she's inflicted during her "destroy all humans" phase, which just ended, she was still only a thirteen year old child. She has her own dreams and wishes, which she knew she could never achieve. In the end, she was alone yet again.

She was destined to be alone forever.

Suddenly, she felt warmth entering her body and it wasn't because of the missiles. She didn't need to open her eyes to know who those warm, cozy arms belonged to.

It was Cecilia, who had embraced her newly adopted daughter.

She lovingly muttered to her, "Oh Sirin, poor child. I saw your pain and loneliness in your dream. I really did want to become your mother. To grant you the thing you lost and longed for."

Sirin stared forward with dull eyes, her body didn't even move or flinch. She was completely limp and seemingly unconscious.

"What a pity. I couldn't change anything." Her grip around her new daughter tightened, not wanting to let go. "At least at the final moments of your life, perhaps I can give you the warmth you wanted."

What Cecilia didn't know, was that Sirin was actually awake and listened to every single word she said. If she had the energy to cry right now, she would've. She wished she could just turned around and return the hug to Cecilia.

She now understood, that Cecilia never actually abandoned her. No. It was her own fault, that it had to end this way. Things would have worked out differently if she had just accepted Theresa's proposal that day.

If only there was a way to change this grim fate of theirs.

"Ich liebe dich."

At this point, Sirin's love for Cecilia had grown to much. Those final words of hers cut too deep into the tormented young girl. Sirin's bottled up emotions leaked out at that moment. A tear rolled down her face as the honkai bombs that would end their lives approached.

Now she felt even worse than before. She person who accepted her as her daughter, the only woman who forgave her despite everything that happened... She was about to die, because of her!

Sirin did not want Cecilia to die. Moreover, she didn't want Cecilia to die because of HER. She especially didn't want Kiana to be left alone in the future.

Right as the bombs detonated, Sirin made one last prayer.

A prayer to save the life of the woman hugging her.

"God... Please save this woman... Whatever you do, please save my mother!" That was the only thing she wishes for at that moment. Her own selfishness became second priority. Her primary concern was Cecilia's survival.

At that moment, in a brief instance, her glazed eyes looked at the glowing white crystal in front of her, and then everything went blank.

God had answered her prayers.

In the end, Sirin died with a smile on her tear-streaked face.
