Jiang Kai touched his nose and looked at Xu Li. "Let's go. I'll send you off."
Just as Xu Li was about to say no, the old lady pushed the two of them out. "Xiao Kai, I won't walk around. Stay with your granddaughter-in-law for a while longer." With that, the old lady closed the door.
Outside the door, Jiang Kai and Xu Li looked at each other again. Jiang Kai, who was thinking about how to ease the awkwardness, blurted out, "Wife, I'll send you back."
Xu Li was stunned.

For the rest of the journey, because of the previous incident, the atmosphere between Jiang Kai and Xu Li was quiet and awkward. After taking the cake, Xu Li turned around and saw Jiang Kai taking a step back nervously. She smiled helplessly and said, "Am I that scary?"
"N-No…" Jiang Kai finally managed to squeeze out a sentence after a long time. He exhaled a little dejectedly and said in a low voice, "You're quite cute."
This was the first time Xu Li had heard someone call her cute. She was a little surprised. There were a lot of things in the cake shop. Other than cakes, Xu Li also bought some sweets. They were mango-flavored and had fruit juice fudge. She grabbed a handful and said to Jiang Kai, "Give me your hand."
Jiang Kai obediently stretched out his hand.
"It's for you." Xu Li placed the candy in Jiang Kai's hand. "Grandma can't eat sweet things?" She saw the blood sugar medicine on the table.
Jiang Kai nodded.
"Then keep it for yourself. Don't let her see it. Also, the pastry just now is sweet. Tell Grandma to eat less," Xu Li reminded her seriously.
Jiang Kai tightened his grip. The fudge wrapper stung his palm a little. He looked at Xu Li and suddenly smiled. "Okay, I understand. I'll listen to you." His tone was gentle, as if he was saying sweet nothings.
There was a strange feeling in Xu Li's heart. She looked away and said, "Alright, I'll leave first. Meng Qingqing has urged me several times."
"Okay, I'll send you to the bus stop." Jiang Kai put the candy in his pocket. He stared at Xu Li and reached out to take her cake box. "Let's go."
There was a traffic jam on the road. When she arrived at Meng Qingqing's house, the dishes were already half served. Meng Qingqing, the birthday girl, was waiting for her outside the villa. When she saw her, she rushed over. "You're finally here!"
"Stop pressing on the cake." Xu Li retracted her hand that was holding the cake and patted Meng Qingqing's back with her other hand. "Happy birthday, Qingqing."
Meng Qingqing smiled and squatted down to look at the cake box. "Is it Matcha?"

Xu Li pushed the door open and entered. Wen Heng, Chu He, and the others were sitting in rows on the sofa, playing games. When Wen Heng saw Xu Li enter, he looked away from the phone screen and asked, "Boss, are you playing games?"
Meng Qingqing glared at him angrily. "What game? It's time to eat!"
Wen Heng hurriedly ended the game, put his phone in his pocket, and ran to the dining room. When he passed by Meng Qingqing, he even pulled her hair. "Why are you so fierce!"

Xu Li placed the cake on the coffee table. Chu He helped to open it and asked, "Should we eat the cake first or eat first?"
