Daniel could only stare at Latisha from afar. Imelda was too stunned to see what had happened. 

"Daniel, what's wrong?" she asked. 

"I … I just discovered that the girl is my mate."

Imelda's eyes sparked as she heard that. "Oh, it's wonderful! But then, why did Latisha run and cry?"

Daniel scratched the back of his head and shook his head. "I'm confused too."

"What did you say to her?" Imelda asked again. She needed to find out the problem before she could help. Otherwise, she couldn't mend the damage.

"First, I asked her if she was okay. Then my wolf told me about the girl. What's her name?"

"Latisha. Latisha Darby."

"Ah, beautiful name. Yes, my wolf told me that Latisha is my mate. But it was so sudden. I wasn't prepared to discover my mate so soon." Daniel scratched his head again. "I might say something that Latisha misinterpreted."

"What exactly did you say?"
