"What?"

"I'm sorry I marked you when you were still a pup. But I don't regret having you as my mate."

Sophia took a distance and stared at the ceiling. "What if my mate ain't you? Until now, my wolf has never told me about my mate."

"I apologize for that. I wish I could change what has happened." John took the black necklace from his pocket. "Can I put the necklace on your neck? I didn't do it the first time I gave it to you."

Sophia stared at the necklace. It was her favorite one, as the necklace had been with her for twelve years. "How about if you keep it?"

"Do you want another necklace? I can make our Rho create one. He is great at his work."
