"I have another idea," Sonic told Knuckles. "How about we just... break it down?"
"Sonic, I don't know if that's a---" Knuckles started, as Sonic wound up a punch. Then, BAM! Sonic hit the door at full force. He immediately reeled back violently, stumbling over his own feet.
"Agh!" Sonic shouted in pain. He inhaled sharply.
"Sonic! Sonic, are you okay?" Knuckles asked, a little panicky.
"Yeah, I guess..." Sonic muttered. "That didn't feel great."
"You need to be more careful!" Knuckles scolded.
"Yeah, yeah..." Sonic sighed. The only request he disliked more than someone telling him to be careful was someone telling him to go slow. "Let's just... stay here for a moment. This really hurts."
"You need to take it slow."
Sonic grumbled some incomprehensible words.
"What's up with that door?" Knuckles pondered. "You can usually break through solid metal easily. Sorry, but that didn't even put a dent in it."
"Ol' Eggy must have upgraded..." Sonic groaned, his hand throbbing. They stayed like that for a moment, Sonic clutched his hand and sat down to soothe his pain. Knuckles stayed by his side to make sure he was okay.
"Well, we can't stay here forever," Sonic said after a few minutes, a weak half grin on his face. He got up and shook his arm. "Let's keep moving..."
"Alright, I guess..." Knuckles sighed. He fully expected Sonic to move forward almost immediately after such a hit. That's just what Sonic does. "Again, let's go look for that key."
