Chapitre 93: Chapter 93
Sonja looked up at Sonic. Sonja didn't know what she was doing. She had tears streaming down her face. "Sonja...?" Sonic asked. "Are you okay?"
Sonja looked down at Marilyssa. She knew she had to kill her. To save Sonic and his world. Buck, Tails, Knuckles, Pico... All of them would perish if Marilyssa lived.
But for the life of them, she couldn't. She couldn't bear to kill Marilyssa. Deep down, somewhere, she still loved Marilyssa. "I can't..." Sonja whimpered, as she ceased her super form, letting the Chaos Emeralds fall around her. Sonic looked down at Marilyssa's hand, noticing a glow from the bottom of his vision. The stone she was holding, the one from the hourglass... it was charging something up.
"No!" Sonic shouted. After plopping Pico onto the ground, he dashed into Sonja, pushing her out of the way. Then, he sent a barrage of Homing Attacks at Marilyssa. Again, again, and again! Eventually, Marilyssa's head was sliced off of her body. It left a trail of blood as it rolled on the ground.
Sonic huffed and puffed as he regained his energy from the collection of attacks. Oh no. He'd done it again. He'd directly killed someone. But... he had saved the world! Mobius! His friends!
Sonic turned around. "Guys!" He exclaimed. "D-did we do it?" He asked through bated breaths, looking at Tails, who was holding Pico. He turned to Sonja. "Hey... I'm sorry about that... I---"
"Sonic... why'd you do it?" Sonja asked.
"Um... what?" Sonic replied with another question.
Sonja looked up at him. The tears were coming faster now.
"Whoa!" Sonic exclaimed.
"WHY'D YOU DO IT?!" She shouted. "You were my friend, you were my hero! But you just KILLED MY WIFE!"
"Hey, hey!" Sonic replied. "I'm sorry! What else was I supposed to do?" Sonic instantly regretted saying this. Apologies weren't his strong suit.
Sonja leaned over and wrestled the hourglass stone from out of Marilyssa's hand. It was curled around the stone, the muscles not moving and giving the illusion of a dead spider with the fingers being like its legs curled up by each other.
"Hey, what are you doing with that?" Sonic asked.
Sonja stared him down. "Finishing what she started..." Sonja muttered. She held the stone up in front of her. "With this, I will erase your whole damn history. This is what you get for killing the one I love!"
"Nuh-uh!" Sonic disregarded. He flew forward towards Sonja. He went into Spinball form while hurdling towards her. But she too, created a purple forcefield from the stone. It knocked Sonic back and into the arms of Buck and Knuckles.
"Hmph... Unsurprising. Shows how much you really care about me," Sonja said. "BEGONE!" Instantly, a blinding white light emanated from the area around Sonja. Sonic knew this light wasn't good. So he ran, his friends in tow.
They realized they were running out of platform to run on. But looking back at the light, Sonic thought... he'd rather take the fall. So, all of his friend joined hands... and jumped.
They fell, accompanied with that tingly feeling in your chest and stomach. They fell until they started to lose consciousness. Then, it all turned black.
Da-Doong! Checkpoint reached: "Fall"
