Chapitre 5: Evaluation
Byeol was heading towards his father's workplace. He wanted to check his Rank. But before that, his mother pulled him to an expensive shop for clothes. She picked a t-shirt and asked the employees to cut four holes on the back for his two sets of wings.
The employees took a perfect measurement of his wings and delicately cut open the back of the t-shirt. They don't want to make the wife of one of the most powerful person in Korea angry.
Though wearing the t-shirt was quite difficult, at least his wings being extremely flexible helped a little. After paying for the dress both of them went on their way.
"Now you look a little better." His mother declared while observing him.
"Was this really necessary?"
"Of course! You are a young bachelor with a high level job. You should always dress appropriately."
"Haaah~"
After hailing a cab, they reached the building within 20 minutes. The building was extremely tall with large glass windows. The door of the building had the logo of the Korean Hunter's Association over it.
After he passed through the doors, he got many looks. Though many were a little weirded out thinking he had worn a costume. But those looks turned into one of surprise when they saw the wings moving independently. Many took his pictures, many also recognised him as the son of the Chairman and also the founder and CEO of GoTech.
He ignored them and waited in the waiting room with his mother. He kept on standing as he was unable to properly sit down because of his wings.
'Ok. Now it's starting to become irritating.' he thought to himself. He then looked down towards his hands again and clenched them again. His strength increased by a lot when he was under the sun but the effects of the growth became considerably slower the more he stayed under sunlight. As if he was reaching the limit for his power.
He waited for 10 minutes before his name was called. His mother remained in the waiting room while he followed the employee who called for him.
He followed her into a large room white a huge black sphere in the middle. The sphere was connected to various other devices using cables.
"Please place your hand on the sph-"
"Good morning, sir!" Before the woman could finish giving out instructions, her superior interrupted her and bowed a little to Byeol. He also made the woman bow down a little.
"He is the Chairman's son! Pay some respect!" The man whispered to his subordinate. But Byeol was able to hear it clearly because of his heightened senses. He nodded his head and asked them to get up.
"Please continue."
"Oh yes! Please place your hand on the sphere."
He followed her instructions and placed it on the sphere. He suddenly turned around and asked, "How does this thing even work?"
The man answered his question, "We have a Mana Crystal inside the machine. The machine then compares the amount of mana of the hunter to the Mana Crystal and displays the rank of the Hunter. The devices for measuring the rank of gates work in a similar way."
"Interesting~" Byeol muttered as the sphere glowed a little and various patterns of light danced over the sphere.
*Beep beep*
The machine made a sound and the result was displayed. The woman who was seeing the machine suddenly asked for his superior.
"Is this what I think it is?"
His superior turned around and looked at the display. The words *Error* was being shown. He asked her to run the machine again, but the same result came again.
"Sir. Our current devices cannot measure your Mana. We believe that you will be an S-Rank. But please be present for the re-evaluation in 3 days." The man declared.
"Thank you." He told the employees and walked out of the room. But before he could take a single step out, he was suddenly surrounded by many men in black suits and sunglasses. It was Woo Jinchul and his men.
"Please follow us. Mr. Gun Hee has asked us to escort you and Mrs. Go." He informed Byeol who nodded his head and followed them.
He and his mother were escorted by the people from the Inspection Department. Many people wanted to ask him what his results were or about his wings but they were all blocked by the Jinchil's men.
"Thanks for this." His mother thanked Jinchul.
"Don't mind it. It's our job."

"So I have to congratulate my son for reaching S-Rank." Go Gun Hee declared as he sat down on a couch. Byeol sat opposite him.
"But it's still not decided. I still have the re-evaluation left."
"No no. You are already an S-Rank. The evaluation is for us, the Hunter's Association. It is to give us time to scout out talented individuals before other Guilds can get a hold of them.
"Oh. That's new. So you want me to work for you?"
"I would be lying if I said I didn't have that intention. But the thing is that you can also open your guild. In Korea, there are already four guilds with an S-Rank in each one of them. Another guild will not create a problem. But the problem will be created when you JOIN a Guild. If a guild has 2 S-Ranks in them, they will have more authority than other Guilds in this country and that can be harmful for law and order."
"Hmmm. I understand. And if I were to join the Hunter's Association?"
"Then though you will not be clearing that many gates, you will have more time for your own job. You will only have to participate in the most important and dangerous raids. It will also help us keep other hunters in check just by you being associated with us."
"Why do I feel as if you are making it seem as if joining the Hunter's Association is the best solution?"
"Haha! Whatever you mean?~" his father dodged the question while laughing.
"*Sigh* I think you already know which one I am going to join. Am I right?"
Gun Hee got up from the couch and shook Byeol's hand.
"Haha! Welcome to the Korean Hunter's Association!~"
