The incident with the poachers came to an end. 

The Kenyan authorities arrived at the scene a few hours after sunrise and took it over for investigations. Some of them interviewed the freed captives while others went on a manhunt for the escaped poachers.

The incident was an embarrassment to the provincial government so they lit a fire under the relevant law enforcement agencies, such that none of the agents could relax until they found and apprehended all the poachers involved in the incident.

It turned out, unsurprisingly perhaps, that Gourmet was an internationally renowned poacher with connections to major poaching rings all over the world. He was wanted in many countries and Interpol had a red notice out for him. 

He was known to be a very dangerous individual who wasn't shy about leaving a bloody trail in his wake.
