Chapitre 4: Are You Okay??
In one of the hospital's wards, Yuire lay with an IV line and a heart rate monitor attached to her hand. Yoshito walked over to his younger sister, staring intently at the tiny body that was lying there.
Yoshito's tall body is inversely proportional to his younger sister's body. Tight muscles stood out against the white shirt he was wearing. In stark contrast to Yuire's minimal flesh, even all of her clothes looked too big. If Yoshito hugged her, he felt he would be able to crush her in one hug.
"Hmmm. What kind of big brother am I. You've been so tormented living your life all this time and I'm just enjoying my life in Taiwan with dad." Yoshito whispered taking a deep breath and sitting on the chair next to the bed.
"Why are you so hard on yourself? Why do you have to be like our father? Your faces are no different either" Yoshito smiled sadly and rubbed the back of Yuire's hand with his thumb.
His father's face was always serious, he rarely laughed. The laughter disappeared over time, precisely when the breakup occurred. Because of their selfishness, they must be separated. Yoshito insisted on a career in Taiwan, his mother's home country. His father was just a father who loved his son very much and did not want to leave him alone in a foreign place, even though his father had to leave the country of his birth, his wife and Yuire who were still his blood.
"I'm too mean to you, Yu. Letting you grow up without our father. Letting you keep working hard until you only have a little fat on your body." Yoshito started shedding tears, buried his face in Yu's arms and sobbed.
"You know Yu? I always miss our father. And every time I see you I miss him more." Suddenly someone gently stroked Yoshito's hair. Yoshito raised his head, his little sister had opened his eyes and smiled.
"Are you okay Onii-chan?" Yu asked weakly and tried to wipe Yoshito's tears
"Hey!! You know who's lying here hm? And you're asking if I'm okay??" Yoshito smiled briefly and his eyes turned into a serious mode.
"Is this the reason you collect the money??" Yoshito's gaze was sharp. The distance of his face which was only 10cm from her made it clear that his brother was angry. She had not seen that angry face in almost years. Last seen when Yoshito had a fight with his father in front of him.
Yuire only dared to nod and gulp.
"Yu, you don't have to fight alone anymore like before, there's me. Your Onii-chan is ready to sacrifice anything for you. Please, give me a chance to atone for all my sins." Yoshito asked, stroking his sister's soft cheek.
"Onii-chan, you've accepted me after all this time. You've thanked me, I've troubled you so much, I just want to be able to handle this myself." Yu said in a still weak voice.
"My little sister, my dear. You really are like a father. But please don't be too exact like him. You can't deal with everything alone dear. Ask for my help, it's not a big sin."
"Yes Onii-chan you just need to be behind me, remind me if I take a wrong step or catch me if I will fall. That's enough."
"I am fine Really
I'm fine.
Just hug me.
