100% Snow Lantern: The Heart of The Sea / Chapter 2: [1] Technoblade: My roof is your roof too

Chapitre 2: [1] Technoblade: My roof is your roof too

I didn't move to the North to patch a hole in the roof of my friend's house. I moved here to make myself a safe home. I moved here to find peace of mind remembering my name that has been dirty all over the country.

All of this started because of the storm last night.

Suddenly snow fell accompanied by strong winds. When I looked out the window just after sunrise, trash leaves and pine branches were scattered everywhere. I could also see a fallen tree at the edge of the forest. I'm glad I didn't let Steve, my pet polar bear, play near the woods.

I went down to the basement to get a shovel and a large bag. The animal I was thinking about appeared from behind the storage chest I had arranged at the end of the room. He walked over to me and rubbed his forehead against my hand.

"Morning Steve." I said.

He groaned. I rubbed my face up to his neck. "I have a job."

And guess what, before I got out of the basement, my neighbor Philza the half-crow called my name from the bridge connecting my house to hers.

"Technoblade where are you?" he shouted.

I let out an exasperated breath. I opened my mouth to answer his call, but he called me back.

"Techno are you dead?"

"Yes!" I answered.

"Not now, help me first. I have a hole in the roof!"

I threw the shovel and sack on the floor. While trying to control my anger, I went up to the main floor.

I opened the door, and the first thing I saw was colorful crepe paper flying in front of my face.

"Happy birthday!" exclaimed Philza and Ranboo in unison.

Yes, Ranboo was there too, my neighbor in the form of a half-enderman. They brought a square cake with white cream and some cherries.

I got rid of the papers and instead ended up tearing them apart. I looked at the two of them with an innocent smile.

"I made it before sunrise!" said Philza.

My legs moved closer to the cake, picking up the red cherry that was on top.

"So... your roof really has a hole or something?" I asked.

"Yeah, I want you to patch it up. But Ranboo and I have the party table set up. Come on down."

We chatted lightly in the chair next to my house while enjoying the warm sun. I don't really enjoy it, because my yard is still full of trash.

I don't really blame it, about them throwing a little party that I don't even remember my birthday today. The problem is that Mr. Enderman has a hard time understanding my situation who still has a lot of work to do.

For whatever reason I've been trying to divert Philza from the roof. I've already confirmed the flow of water that is blocked by its own wing feathers, and other troublesome things that he left me.

But when the cake was finished, Ranboo, innocently asked:

"How did your roof have a hole? Didn't Techno replace it last week?"

Philza excitedly answered. "The storm last night." Then his gaze turned to me. "Technoblade, you didn't forget, did you?"

"I swear I did my best to make you forget about it." I said.

Philza laughed innocently.

I looked at the troublemaker. "Ranboo I think you still have short-term memory problems."

Ranboo chuckled as he scratched the back of his neck. "I'm just curious."

And yes, here I am now. Sitting on top of someone's house with a glass of hot chocolate. Philza made it, maybe as a token of gratitude, I don't know I just want to clean up my yard full of trash right now. I also made sure that Philza wouldn't want to help me clean our adjoining yard.

I took a bit of wet clay and stuck it right over the hole. The hole isn't too big, just wait for the clay to harden, and the old man's house won't leak rainwater.

While watching the sun not too high, I took the glass filled with hot chocolate and drank its contents. Warmth traveled from my throat, through my chest to my stomach. The aroma of chocolate and milk helped my soul to calm down.

"Technoblade?"

I refrained from throwing this glass straight from the top of the house.

"What now?" I looked down.

Philza is seen holding a wolf with pure white fur.

"Come down." he said.

I jump down. Snow flakes fell from my red robe.

"Happy birthday, again." he said happily, he pointed the sizable wolf at me.

I frowned. "There's already a polar bear in my living room."

"Come on," The man in the white-green hat handed me the wolf he was holding.

I'm surprised he's always forcing me to take care of something. Even Philza once brought me an enderman (a tall monster that is quite scary for some people) which I don't know where it came from. Maybe he's confused about what else to give me a pet, but come on, is he going to give me an ender dragon after this?

"Oh yes, Niki is coming this afternoon. She said she made pumpkin pie for you." said Philza.

I took the animal from his arms. I don't even know how he can tame a wolf, considering that this animal is impossible to tame.

"You're free to name him, I have to go. Have fun!" Philza flapped her wings and left in the clouds.

I put the wolf down and went back into the house. After a while, I found what I was looking for, a necklace with a miniature black skull pendant.

I crouched in front of him, he looked at me. His eyes were as dark blue as the ocean, his breath was hot and emitted a hint of smoke.

"Ethan, I'll name you Ethan."

I put the necklace around his neck and walked out of the house. Ethan followed in my footsteps, as if he knew who the new owner was.

I went back to the basement to get the shovel and trash bag earlier. Starting to clean the twigs and leaves, I saw Ethan who was getting familiar with the atmosphere here. He ran and jumped, making the snow around him loose. The wolf then rolled on top of him, making the snow stick all over his body.

I put the trash in the bag and put it next to the stables. I brushed off the snow that had piled up on the path of my house and Philza with a shovel, then took care of the rest.

"Technoblade."

I looked over the bridge. Ranboo was standing up there smiling.

"Yes?"

He got off the bridge and came to me. In his hands, it turned out to be carrying a basket full of fresh potatoes.

"For you,"

My smile broke. I immediately put the shovel beside the trash bag and took the basket from Ranboo's cold hands. Oh, he's a half-enderman, not a vampire.

"Thank you!"

He nodded as he smiled. "You're welcome. That's all I can save, the rest was damaged by the wind last night."

I turned to him. "Yeah, I have a feeling the weather will get worse in the next few days. Wait, do you have any other food supplies?"

Ranboo nodded. "Yes. But if what you say is true, I'll probably stay in Snowchester for a while."

His red-green eyes glanced at Philza's wheat field not far from our house. Ethan was playing with Steve there, somehow the bear got there so fast.

"Techno, Steve fought a wolf!" Ranboo said.

"I don't think so. The wolf is mine."

Ranboo smiled amusedly. "Let me guess, that's Philza's gift to you?"

"Yes, unfortunately."

Ranboo's laughter broke out. Even he knows the nature of this one Philza.

We chatted lightly for a while, until I remembered I had other work to do. The fireplace in my house has started to dry, I have to take maybe a little from the tree I cut down yesterday.

"I have another job." I said at last.

Ranboo took out an apple from inside his coat. "Of course. You want to leave the wolf with me?"

"No, he's coming."

"Oh, great. They don't really like endermen."

I made a circle pattern with my thumb and forefinger and sandwiched it with my lips. I blew it, a sound like a whistle sounded loud. Ethan's spine immediately turned to where I was standing, he then ran towards me. Leaving Steve who seems to still want to play.

I picked up the bag of twigs and shovel and carried them back to the cellar. I can use those twigs to help my fireplace light up, and make other versatile items.

I put down the shovel and took a large ax beside him. Maybe one day I really have to work.

I went out and entered the forest area, the red robe I was wearing was quite helpful to warm my body. It was a little difficult to walk because the height of the snow piled up was almost at the level of my calves.

My eyes scanned the area of this pine forest, looking for the tree that I cut down yesterday. The forest is pretty bare, maybe I should plant some saplings tomorrow.

After a few minutes of searching, I finally saw a fallen tree trunk. I cut it into several pieces. Big tree, I decided to only bring one log to take home.

I put it on my shoulder with my left hand holding it, while the right one still gripped the ax firmly. My shoulders will be crushed any minute.

Ethan is a pretty active wolf. He doesn't stop exploring the world around him. Even so, he still followed in my footsteps. The white-furred mammal ran from grass to grass, dandelion to dandelion. I saw that Ethan really liked dandelions.

The wolf walked ahead of me, at first I let it go. Until Ethan's pace was getting faster and faster. I jogged to try to match our pace. He paused for a moment, then continued again.

"He probably smells a lamb," I muttered.

When it was near the end of the forest, Ethan stopped again. He exhaled quickly a few times, I could see thick smoke coming out of his nose.

Ethan's gaze didn't take his eyes off of something behind one of the trees at the end of the forest. I can even see the smoke from my chimney. Ethan continued to watch him but strangely he didn't attack.

"What do you see?" I asked him.

I walked behind the tree with difficulty, this heavy snow was really troublesome. My nose smelled something sharp and stinging. Blood, I smell blood.

"Oh my!" I shouted softly.

I saw a... Woman?
