An unspoken agreement settled between us as we both got ready with our respective styles. While I assumed a stance that Mother taught me years ago with my body lowered on the ground and my blades splayed at both sides, Lise seemed to have adopted a reverse grip on her left-hand sword; her body postured in a way that her left side was more forward than the other.

This wasn't like anything Mother had taught. I guess this was something she developed for herself.

"I'm assuming Mother helped you develop that style," I guessed. "Let's see how it fares then, shall we?"

Giving each other a smirk, we dashed forward with our weapons drawn; our blades clashing immediately as we met at the center of the clearing. As opposed to my horrible performance against her Entshcluss earlier, I actually found it easier to defend against her right now as my blades flowed to counter-act her strikes.
