Well if these guys are here I must be going in the right direction. I probably shouldn't judge all of their strength based on the first look.

I checked a few more, and they do in fact look to all be in similar ranges for their stats. I guess I'll get started then.

*

I know I took the request and need the money, but I don't know if I can take anymore. They just smell so damn bad. I mean, sure they're undead, but they should still have the decency to, oh, I don't know, maybe bathe. Wait, didn't it rain yesterday? Would the rain make them smell better or worse? Anyway, I'm close to the ruins, so I might as well explore it. I'll try not to fight any unnecessary undead; I know it's my job, but I think I did my part good enough.

As I got closer to the ruins, pieces of art became more prevalent. First with chiseled stone, then I found some old statues. Sadly the whole place was heavily overgrown with a majority of things being broken beyond repair. It's a shame that art such as this went to waste.

I picked up one of the heads of the broken statues from the ground. I wiped off the dirt and vegetation that took residence on its head and looked at it. There's little point in being immortalized in stone if you end up being forgotten anyway.

Eventually I reached what is probably the main part of the ruins. Meatal doors that looked like they were once barricaded were left destroyed, fallen statues and overgrown plants filed the area, and the only life around were the undead. After not thinking over if I should really do this or not I made my way inside and began looking around. Bones, rusted weapons, torn clothing, the people who died here didn't go down without a fight, but from the looks of things I cant really tell due to how old this ruin must be. I walked through hallways that had nothing of particular notice, but eventually I reached a medium sized room with nothing but a door at the end; once I entered the room, the entryway behind me closed and I was now trapped.

*bzzt*

"Why hello there, I am the keeper of knowledge in this facility, and if you wish to obtain my treasures you must finish my trials. Once you complete your current trial the door in front of you will open and you can go into the next room. Sadly I can't let you leave unless you complete all the trials. I hope you understand. Anyway the first tri..."

I walked up towards the single door in the room. There was a keyhole on the door, so I looked through it and on the other side was another room that looked identical. Do I have to solve some puzzles to get through this? Wait, I just had an idea. First I tried attacking the door, but that didn't work, so next I put my eye back to the keyhole and casted

[Blink]

"...ve puzzles to advan-"

"Congratulations on passing the first trial, but just know that future trials wont be nearly as easy. Next you'll need to..."

Oh, that actually worked.

I walked up to the next door and used

[Blink]

"You have gained my interest, being able to survive not just one, but two rooms. Sadly your superior intellect wont hel..."

"-know it'll be difficult-"

"-Trial of the patient-"

Currently the voices from all the rooms were overlapping over each other, and it sounded horrible. I couldn't make out a single word they were trying to say. Oh, the first message finally stopped.

"A TRIAL OF STRENGTH!"

"-need to stay in the room until the time-"

A trial of strength?

The floor in the middle of the room opened and something started to come out. What could it be? Considering I didn't hear anything about these trials, there must have been something strong in here.

A golem appeared and I quickly used

Now that I have a good look at it, I don't think it it's going anywhere. I want to beat it and see what happens, but I feel if punch a bunch of rusted metal I'll end up getting sick, plus it's only level 10, so it probably wont give much anyway. I can't believe I put up my guard for this.

The golem stood up and was instantly crushed beneath its own weight. All that was left was a pile of rusted metal.

"Congratulations on passing the third trial of-"

"-If you don't wait long enough you'll be left in the room till the end of-"

They're really still overlapping, just how long was that second message?

The door opened and I walked into the next room.

Oh, was that it? There's loot everywhere. It was all very shiny. This'll take a long time to look through everything though. Swords, axes, halberds, and spears lined the walls while piles of gold, trinkets, and accessories filled the floor.
