Chapitre 26: The New Eye
"So, you are the one who gave this eye here," said Schaffe.
"Correct. We were planning to have some implanted with it within our ranks but it seems a perfect subject came out of nowhere for us," said Max.
"What do you want for this eye?" asked Phil. "There has to be a catch?"
"Yeah, you must be planning something with this eye," said Schaffe.
"Well, I would love to be repaid for it and I figure the best way for you. Join the Brotherhood and once your debt is paid off you are free to go," said Max. "We will come get you when the time comes for you to start basic training," He and his men leave.
"It feels like we just got into a hole," Phil sighed.
Schaffe and Phil returned to their base. Ian and Alan were fixing up a car.
"Hey boss…" said Ian as he saw his new eye.
"What the hell?" questioned Alan.
"So, what you think the doctor and the brotherhood gave this cool deathclaw eye," said Schaffe.
"Can you see with it?" asked Ian.
"Yeah, it's like my eye is one of those fancy cameras," said Schaffe.
"That is cool. It's like you became one of those superheroes from the comics," said Ian.
"It's only an eye. It can not do that much but help me see better," said Schaffe.
"We should focus on this deal with the Brotherhood. It is not like it going to be easy. I think we should leave New York," said Phil.
"What? It can not be that bad," said Schaffe.
"The Brotherhood of Steel, they are on to something with that eye. I feel we should take off before they come to pick you up," said Phil.
"I would not mess with the Brotherhood like that Phil. They could have someone spying on us. Especially that Max Majors. He ruthless and would kill to get what he wants" said Alan.
"I should do what he wants then. I guess I just need to become a part of his group," said Schaffe.
"Yeah, either way, it fucked," said Phil.
"Well, I hope you like boot camp," said Alan.
"Yeah, and probably going to be in service for a long while," said Ian.
"Ah, shit," said Schaffe.
Two weeks ago, by and it was the day Schaffe headed out to boot camp for the Brotherhood. Schaffe seemed to have bulked up somehow as he do not excise enough to build up the way he did. Schaffe was waiting for them to pick him up with them. Schaffe was now wearing a black eyepatch over his left eye.
"Man, when you gain muscle?" asked Ian.
"Beats me. I just woke up like this," said Schaffe. "I also seem hungrier lately as well."
"I think it that eye doing it," said Phil.
"He is a mutant now it seems," said Alan. They see a Brotherhood truck come to pick Schaffe to begin boot camp.
"Damn, they are here," said Phil.
"Well, boys I guess I will see you when I get some personal time," said Schaffe. Schaffe heads out to the truck.
"Ah, fuck I am going to hate this," said Phil. He heads out to with Ian and Alan.
Schaffe was sitting in the bed of the truck. A brotherhood recruiter sees them.
"Hey are you also recruiting for more?" asked Phil.
"Well, the Brotherhood is always looking for new recruits," said The Brotherhood Soldier.
"Cool I going to jump in," said Phil. He goes and sits in the bed with Schaffe Ian and Alan would join them too after looking at each other. They then take off.
"I did not expect you guys to join," said Schaffe.
"We can help repay debt faster," said Ian.
"Hopefully, we can get through this," said Phil.
