After signing the employment contracts, Remi went home and took cocoa butter to walk around the condominium park. The amenities include a dog park, where cocoa butter can enjoy leashed free play time with a few other neighbor pups.
She checked her phone and saw her team was coming, and she needed to get them to the main gate since they did not have access to the compound.
Walking as fast as she could, her heart swelled, missing them that she treated like her siblings. It has been a month, and she can't wait to see them.
Baldie gets out of the car to embrace Remi, followed by Mango and Coconut.
"Don't waste time; let's get inside" she looked around her surroundings observing, worried if she had been followed or spied on.
"Wow, big sis, this is a very nice condominium" Coconut broke the silence as she swiped her access card.
"I will tell you the story of how I got this place," she chuckled. The rest two have not been made aware of what has happened to Remi, and tonight, she will tell everything to them.
"Make yourself at home; all of you will be living with me; there are four bedrooms, one for each of us, and my room is towards the end of the hallway. "
As soon as Remi finished her talk, the three guys raced to choose their room, earning a laugh from Remi in the living room.
After they had settled down, Remi stood in the living room with all the documents and medical reports she had seen earlier.
The three contently listen to her while Mango can't help but tear up; occasionally, Remi will stand up and walks to the glass door and watch the night sky hiding the pain in her voice. She hated for them to see her in tears; pride sometimes gets to her.
She does not want any of them to see how vulnerable she is right now.
"Boss, that is some twisted shit happened; we are sorry you are unable to meet and get to know your twins" Coconut understands the feelings of helplessness.
"You have us, sissy; we will be here to help you with anything you need" Baldie loves Remi like his own sister.
"Yes, big boss, we love you, and we will do anything for you,"
Remi was worried for a little bit that they would be backing out since four of them were unsure which prominent families they would be up against. However, seeing them persistent and determined to help her, she couldn't allow it but ran to them, and the four hugged.
"Thank you, guys. I love all of you too. Okay..this will bring us onto the next subject." she started.
"We will go legit from now on, no more illegals; Clarissa matters will be making us under heavy microscopy, so we can't afford a mistake. And I have a job at Knights Co. " she smiled awkwardly, gauging reactions.
She explained her job scope and will be needing them to be part of her team; her job does require traveling to a few places with them, and she understands if any of them does not want to work at Knights Co.
"Boss, I think it's best if I stay hidden; that way, I can keep doing recon and follow Luke Henson undetected."
"Sissy, coconut is right, we love to work with you, but I do believe three of us should not be seen with you; it will make our investigations too obvious, we will find a job, but it will be at random where it gives us access to Luke Henson."
Remi loves this; they are always upfront about how they see the situation and are not afraid to let her know. That is why she needed them.
"well, then it settles, we will arrange our next plan in a few days, but now I want you guys to rest and tell me how things are over there; I miss nature and how Nanny Quincy is."
They talked and joked for the entire time while ordering dinner and eating together like how things used to. Seeing all of them here made Remi emotional; she had never been alone in her life; she might not have parents, but she always had them; they grew up together and got in trouble together.
It reminded Remi it had been a while since she called Rachel. She excused herself to her room and retrieved her cell phone to dial Rachel's number.
"Hello, pretty girl" Remi lay on the bed.
"Well, well, Remi Andrea Ferguson."
All of the children at the orphanage during Remi's time of stay were given the director's surname. He was a good man and a loving teacher to them. One horrible incident made him severely sick and die. The stress of finding the funds for the orphanage has to have caused a toll on him.
"Rachel Lynn Ferguson..." Remi chuckles.
"The boys were worried about you."
"They are here now with me."
"Remi...I pray every day for you. I want..."
Remi knew what Rachel wanted to say, so she cut her words before she continued.
"It's different now, Rach; I had a twin sister."
"What?"
"Yeah...so.."
Rachel focused on hearing everything from Remi; she was silent the entire time and only responded to a few things.
"Remi, when I told you to be clean, I did not mean to find something to replace the urge of Your self-destruction; you know going against the rich will hurt you badly; had you not learned enough about what happened to father Ferguson?" Rachel reminded her of the incident 10/years ago.
"I know. And I learn, so I won't let it slide just like that. she was with a child!" Remi refers to Clarissa Henson.
"But she was also gone..let her be at peace. Remi, I'm worried about you," Rachel sobbed on the side of the line.
Rachel is a nurse in the hospital in Anders; she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. for a nurse practitioner license.
Baldie, or his real name James Ferguson was a graduate of communications. Theodore Ferguson, a.k.a Coconut graduate with honors in the economy. While Felix Ferguson, a.k.a mango graduate in management and planning.
All of them are the last generations of Father Ferguson's children that he raised before he died. Remi graduated in archeology and antic studies. They all went to accelerate bachelor programs overseas, and a generous man from America sponsored their educations.
They were a thieves not only for the orphanage but also to get back at the rich and spite them. Remi held the utmost grudge against the rich for what had happened 10/years ago.
"Trust me, Rach, trust me..."
"I know you wanted to help the unfortunate children, but I also know there are ways to help them without having to steal. You know this, but you did it not only for them but for you..you did this for vengeance, and it hurts me seeing you dragged the boys in this..you are my sister; I love you so much, and I am telling you to let go, you have a job now, and don't drag them into this mess Remi.."
"I can't.."
"Remi...we can't control what happened to us when we were kids, we are fortunate to be educated, and now we are grown, we decide our life, we are given a future, forget the rich, not every rich people are bad."
"You never understand.."
" I saw you are hurting yourself more and more...you trained too hurt, kickboxing, knife skills, I patched your injuries!! And I won't, and I refuse to enable your self destruction behavior; the boys looked up to you. Please don't ruin their life"
Remi choked on tears at the ugly, painful truth Rachel spoke; she was selfish; she hated the rich; she hated them so much.
"I should not have called," Remi stated..and hung up the phone immediately. She took the beer bottle and gulped it furiously. She is mad but not towards Rachel but herself. Rachel is right; she is selfish to drag them to this life. It's for her vengeance. Her selfish desire.
