Chapitre 12: Chapter 12 - Exploring Aura, Classes and Team's professor
"Well then students I will see you tomorrow." Said Oobleck as he literally vanished from the classroom.
Oobleck's history class was 50/50 for Nephrite. Sometimes it got a bit boring but oftentimes Oobleck had interesting viewpoints on the history itself.
He wasn't just reading a textbook but he actively seeks out why something happened and tries to teach students how to think this way.
"Hey! Ren are we finally going to see the new movie?"
"Sure Nora, do you guys want to come with us?" Ren asked as he looked at Nephrite and Pyrrha.
It's been 5 days since school officially started.
"I'll go, what about you Nephrite?"
"I have something to do sorry guys." Apologised Nephrite as he split from the group heading for the library.
The Beacon's library had many things not available outside and Nephrite has been combing through the books trying to find something interesting.
In the end so far he had found a few interesting books that were hidden pretty deeply in the library.
'Book of Legendary Huntsmen Vol.1', 'Book of Grimm Vol.1', 'Arc's theory on Aura' and 'Book of weapons'.
The Book of legendary huntsmen had names of some very famous huntsmen/huntresses but also names of some huntsmen/huntresses he has never heard about.
'I wonder what's in the volume 2 and beyond, these books should be real if they are in this library...' Thought Nephrite as he looked at the Book of Grimm and Book of Weapons.
The Book of Grimm had few dozen pages that were filled with normal species of Grimm that roamed the world.
The book on weapons was too as thin as the book on legendary huntsmen. It had depictions of weapons and some of those appear even in some fairy tails of this world.
Though these books were weird what interested Nephrite was the 'Arc's theory on Aura.'
The reason they were so famous was that during the Great war Blizzard's great-great-grandfather had managed to use his Aura outside of his body. It was dangerous as each swing would result in loses to Aura.
But it also made him an unstoppable man on the battlefield. As long as he had Aura no one managed to stop him and he created a great upheaval.
And this book just so happened to have a detailed explanation and experience written down by the very Blizzard's great-great-grandfather himself.
The more he read through it the more fascinated he was with the Aura itself. That man found out that people that had chosen their path of absolute evil or good tended to have stronger Aura.
He found this out by teaching his children about absolute good. None of his children had weak Aura and they rapidly strengthened themselves.
That was until his youngest was born. His youngest managed to lean and learn in both sides without falling in either. The perfect balance.

'Neat.' He thought as he left the library and headed to the training room.

This new job was a tad stronger with 1 stat point per level and 1 skill point per 2 levels which he very much welcomed.
It also was pretty easy to level up. Assignments, lectures, sparring etc. led to an increase to EXP. Some were worse and some better but in the end it was easy EXP.

Fighting and sparring proved to be far more effective in gaining EXP than if he was training alone. He usually sparred with Pyrrha and sometimes Ren or Nora.
And even though he couldn't outperform Pyrrha in almost anything he was like a cockroach. At first the spars lasted only 20 or so minutes but with him levelling up his mastery skill the time it took to beat him started to rise as well.
'Let's try the Aura manipulation.' He thought and began trying couple of things.
First was the plain old meditation which worked albeit very slowly. Next he tried to actively move Aura from his hand to another. It took quite a lot of concentration but it was far more effective than meditation.
He had tried to push Aura outside of his body but it would quickly disperse. A higher level of Aura manipulation was needed...
A few hours passed and his Aura manipulation had levelled up twice.

Days flew by and Nephrite usually spent that time training with his team or spending quality time together with them especially at weekends.
He learned that Nora's digestive system was truly fearsome especially when he was cooking.
The first time he did so for his team Nora had almost eaten portion for 10 and wanted to eat more if there was more food.
Pyrrha and Ren were also surprised because of how the food tasted so good and Nephrite took Ren under his 'tuition' so he wouldn't need to cook so much food alone.
When they weren't eating and were training instead they had developed some basic combo moves with Nora as the main opener or finisher.
They were rudimental and had some polishing to do but it worked. There were also quite a few classes that Nora dreaded especially the economics class.
After all if a huntsman died of starvation because they wouldn't be able to afford anything it would be quite sad wouldn't it?
He even met Coco's team and sparred with them a few times. Velvet was a fearsome close combat warrior and had easily outmatched Yang during a combat lesson spar.
Yatsuhashi and Fox were also great sparring partners especially Fox with his heightened senses he sometimes helped Nephrite with his True-Sixth-sense and gave him tips how to use it better.
Speaking of other teams Onyx had absolutely destroyed Cardin after he tried to bully Velvet and other Faunus. Cardin stood no chance and was played with in the combat sparring lessons.
Team RWBY had it a bit tough though as they weren't fully unified. Even though Weiss melted a bit after they passed the initiation she still hasn't agreed with Ruby being the leader.
Even though Yang had so many puns and bad jokes the literature classes were her bane. "Why would huntsmen even need this!" Yang grumbled after a class ended.
"Come on Yang it isn't that bad, it's just one lesson per week!" Ruby tried to uplift her sister's mood.
"Humpf if you had listened to the class properly you would know that each kingdom has it's culture and customs, if you ever leave the Vale kingdom without knowing what's outside wouldn't you stand out like a sore thumb?" Said dissatisfied Weiss.

The most interesting class would probably be the Grimm combat class. First few classes were a bit theoretical but once a month each student would get a professor that would take them into the wilderness to see and fight wild Grimm.
If the professor and students wanted to they could have their professor stay and each month they would go on a hunt for a few days.
And today was the day Nephrite and his team would get their professor.
"Wait is that you Nephrite?"
'What?' He thought as he looked at his soon to be professor.
"Wait Apollo?! You are a professor???" Nephrite stood there dumbfounded. That handsome prick was actually a professor? How did he even get the time to work in a Diner?
"I know I know, I too would rather stare at cute girls all day but my girlfriend dragged me here so I wouldn't run off."
"I see..."
"Anyways aren't you a bit young? I know that the academy can accept older students but you haven't changed either..."
"I'll explain it to you later..." Said Nephrite as his team looked at him questioningly.
"Anyways... This is Apollo Sunstar I used to work with him in a Diner... And Apollo this is my team, Pyrrha, Nora and Ren." Nephrite introduced them to each other trying to divert their attention for now.
'Man this is exhausting...' He sighed in his mind.
"Wait Apollo can you even fight?"
"Hey! That's not how you talk to a professor and yes I can fight, thank you very much." Said Apollo before he became serious like a professor should be.
"Anyways, kids you will be with me for few days so I will need to see what you are capable of." They nodded and moved to a training room.
...
"Alright let's show him what we can do! Nora support us from the back before engaging, Ren try to sneak up on him and if it doesn't work just spray him with bullets from his blind spot, Pyrrha let's go." Nephrite instructed his team before dashing at Apollo with Pyrrha.
Apollo just smirked and winds became turbulent before he started to mimic drawing a bow in the air.
'Huh? Wha-'
*Booom
An arrow suddenly hit Nephrite and knocked him back. Soon after Pyrrha was knocked back too.
"Come on you can't be that weak right kids?" Apollo made fun of them and continued to shoot with the air.
'Invisible bow? Semblance?' Nephrite tried to find the answer whilst dodging. It was hard but his True-Sixth-Sense helped him.
"Not bad other kids usually lose after 10 or so arrows." Commented Apollo as he was gracefully dodging every bullet and grenade Nora and Ren threw in the air.
Nephrite and Pyrrha too started shooting but not a single bullet had hit him. As if Apollo was satisfied he stopped shooting his 'arrows' and said.
"Alright kids show me what you can do up close." Nephrite and Pyrrha just nodded to each other before Nephrite yelled at Ren to get it ready.
Nephrite and Pyrrha dashed at Apollo. Nephrite sprayed him with his AK for a bit before pulling out his weapon and slashing.
Apollo just tilted his head and dodged the slash. Pyrrha ducked and attacked Apollo as she used Nephrite as a cover.
As her spear almost touched Apollo the air distorted and her spear was firmly stuck in place.
"Ren now!" Nephrite yelled as Nora dashed at Apollo before getting hit by lightning dust bullet from Ren.
Nora aimed her hammer at his head and smashed.
*Booom
A slight shockwave had appeared but Apollo just stood at one place.
"Not bad but could use some more work. Alright kiddos this is enough for now, I'll see you tomorrow at 7 PM near the docks~." He said teasingly as he vanished in large strides.
"He's strong..." Pyrrha said.
"Very." Replied Nephrite, they were simply supressed from the very beginning with no chance of winning...
(A/N: The newest review doesn't really like the AU. What do you guys think? I feel like the OG canon would be very limiting in terms of actual plot and would basically end with volume 3. Not to mention that expanding Ozpin's forces [Which I am very adamant about] would make parts of the plot sound silly or MC would become a babysitter/background character. I do admit though that MC's jobs weren't well thought out and if people won't like this AU I'll just scratch this whole novel and will probably rewrite it. Let me know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
