Twenty Years later…

"So… what are you going to do now, Hayden?" Rick asked, as he and the other teenagers encircled the only motherless child in the alpha's fortress.

Hayden cringed in fear, as he backed away to the wall in fright. He numbered his assailants, which were actually his step siblings, and realized that he wouldn't be getting as lucky as he had done the last time.

The last time he had been able to put Rick and his brothers to flight with all the resilience that he could muster. But that time around, he had gathered more reinforcements from the other kids, and they were ready to deal no little damage to the young man.

Being the first son of the first queen, Rick had shown a lot of promise to succeed Alpha Charles, and that in turn, gave him some measure of influence among his peers.
