The two soldiers looked at each other before one walked forward, "My name is Christopher Owens and this is Warren Anderson. We are both from the Silver City." They both looked in their 20s. Making Francis the oldest one out of the group.
Listening to the knight, James did not feel as if he was trying to belittle him. This gave James a good feeling about the knights in front of him. "Let's move out. If we stay still for too long, we might turn in ice statues." James jokingly said. The weather was so cold, that the joke of James actually could become reality any moment.
Thus with that, the group headed towards the area they were going to patrol at. During this time, some small talk was exchange between the four of them. These included where they from, their background and family relationship. During this conversation, James found out that Christopher actually had a nickname. People called him "Blackheart". Apparently when he bled, his blood would be so dark red, that it almost looked black.
As Christopher like the way the nickname sounded, he preferred to be called by his nickname. Even though he was a knight, it did not matter to him that he was called with such a scary name. He even liked that it sounded freighting.
The conversation between them was going so good that, when James told them about the mine his family had close to the silver city, both the knights even invited him to also visit them next time he got to silver city.
Arriving at the end of their patrol route, the group started to head back to the place where they were coming from. At this point, James had a weird feeling in his heart. As if he was heading towards something dangerous. The only thing that James could think of was Edgar and his gang.
Not even arriving at the starting point, James noticed a group was heading towards them. His heart started to beat faster as the group was getting closer. The only thing that made James feel at ease was that he was surrounded by knights he could consider as friends. With that in mind, James did not break his phase as the other group was getting closer.
Taking a look at the group that was getting close, James noticed that one of them was looking around a lot. As if he was searching for something. Thinking why this could be, James also looked around, to realize that one of the officers was close by. However he was walking to the way they were headed to.
Looking back at the guy that was looking around, James realized the reason why that guy was looking around. That person was Edgar. He was making sure that the officer was leaving. When that was the case, he looked towards James with a dangerous smile on his face. Tapping on the shoulders of the rest of his crew, all the soldiers were looking towards James with the same dangerous smile.
Clearly they had something planned to do. To make sure that James would not fall in their trap, James made sure to explain the situation to the two knights that accompanied him and Francis. This in order to rope them in before the confrontation with Edgar. The story told by James was more favorable towards himself. As he was halfway through the story, he noticed that the expression of the two knights already started to change. It was clear that they were not in favor of such behavior.
